As far as the wiring...Will I need new harnesses or other elements to make the new buttons function?
Wait I mean like for like wheels. whatever generation you have will easily work with that generation wheel.

If your car is older and has a different style wheel than the new ones all bets are off.

Yes. I have an 11. I wanted to use the 10-12 leather premium wheel but I was worried because my car just has the base vinyl wheel with the basic controls. My wife's new fusion has the volume controls on the wheel and I am jealous!

Can the base wheel be swapped to the premium wheel and all the buttons work? Some say that dealers won't do it and other places can't. I just upgraded to leather and I'm really hoping to pick up a wheel soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The cruse will work with just plugging in connections on the wheel. The radio controls can be programed to work by your dealer. The sync button won't work.

To me, even though I didn't have the radio buttons programmed, the Premium Leather wheel as a vast improvement over the stock plastic wheel. The look and feel just makes it...and a brand new one for only $89 sealed the deal.

I don't want the stero controls in the wheel, so I'm looking at this wheel:

I'll have to swap out the buttons to make it work in my '12, but that's okay.

With a 6$ forum discount, it's only $374. "Only"... BWA HA HA HA! Still cheaper than getting it from Ford.

I totally agree, Best mod I did to the interior was getting rid of the OEM urethane steering wheel and putting on the leather premium wheel.
