Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 door sub
Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 door sub
Anybody happy using these with the stock door sub amp(s)? Apparently little to no users of the Helix 2 ohm DVC subs. These RF subs are also 2 ohm DVC and may be a decent match to the stock audio system.
Thanks.

Helix is not a very known brand, but they make high end good quality stuff. If you can swing it, I'd much rather take a chance on trying some Helix drivers versus RF crap that they sell at best buy...

^ That's a single 4ohm coil sub, but it'd fit.

According to mfgr's specifications, the overall diameter of Helix is 8.3" and the Rockford Fosgate is 8.72". The stock speaker measures 8.5", so I believe using either of these in place of the stock speaker with the stock grille and trim ring will require modification to the speaker, the stock grille, or both.
Of course you can't really know unless you take the plunge and buy one to try. I'm tired of wasting money on purchases for my car that don't work out, and was hoping someone here had a good replacement speaker experience with the stock amps.

Yea. The stockers already come too far into the interior, and those Kickers are even worse. Also, I get the impression that their power requirement does not work well with the stock Ford door sub amp. It's my goal to get a good sounding speaker on the stock amp.
Do you have a router/jigsaw, or access to one? It's a lot easier to make a ring for something that's 2/10 of an inch small, than it is to trim something that's too big for the stock cover...
