So I recently picked up a set of these pony door panels for super cheap but didnt realize the stitch color is wrong. Looking for white stitching but these panels look almost new even the armrest arent squished. Only issue is these are blue, would anyone have any ideas on how to change the color? I dont mind the blue really but the rest of my interior is white stitching.
Get a bottle of white paint and a teensy tiny brush. Or maybe some wite-out... Just have to be *reeeeally* careful painting those sitches...

The only way I'd do it is to painstakingly undo the blue thread and hand stitch new white thread in there. It will work, and it won't damage the original panel. You'll already have holes, so it'd be like lacing up shoes except REALLY tiny and longfellow shoes.
Trying to dye or bleach the threads will likely result in at the hopeful least minor failure to do the job, and the more likely failure to do the job AND you've ruined the panel.
You might take the thing to an upholstery shop and see what they'd say about the stitching, they may have a trick or two that I don't know about, but that's gonna cost ya, of course. Consulting won't, probably, but if they acutally get the job, yep, monies.
Those panels are super rare....only came with the 401A with the grabber blue interior. I wouldnt mess with them, really hard to find those. I would just keep looking for white ones, they show up pretty often of wrecked cars.
I was also thinking of leaving them my car is black so possibly incorporate some blue stitching items like a shift boot and ebrake boot. Or look for some 401a seats and call it a day since my.driver seat is worn.

401A seats are nice highly recommend them if you can find them. Don't regret putting the whole 401A package in my car.

What is all included in the 401a package other than the stripe sears and door panels? I do like the blue stripe seats tho have been toying with tossing the s550 rear seat in since i dont like the foldable headrest in back
401A has engine turned dash pieces, the fancy door panels you have, the seats with the strip down the middle. It also has a better feeling shift boot and aluminum shifter, As for the rear seats if you can find some 401A seats from a 2010 it has the older 2005-2010 style rear seat headrests that do not fold. Grabber Blue 401A You can see shift **** seats and door panels along with the dash. 2010 Rear seats, notice the lack of foldable headrests.
oh nice didnt realize the dash, but I recently got the boss 302 dash panels and already have a shifter thats an aftermarket. so just gotta find the seats then.
I was able to score some new take off 401a blue seat covers for a great deal. So im just going to replace my driver seat foams and stick with these for now was thinking of picking up a rear seat from a s550 with the blue stitching but not sure yet.
I love the 401a interior. Had to order that on my 2014. Gives it a unique look to the late S197 interior. Striped seats in white (cashmere), blue or red. Dash is machined (woven look) polished metal, different than the CS, Boss, or Shelby. Liked it so much that I did not add the Roush interior to my Roush Stage 2... Not sure how the S550 seats will match-up with your S197 but like the look. Let us know and post pictures.
Here are some shots of the 401A interior. Last three are not my car, but help to show, especially the dash images. Only thing is these are in cashmere, not blue as you have.

Yea I have always liked the style of that interior so figured why not as my stock interior is showing its age. I did go with the boss 302 dash panels, since i like the turned metal finish, just wish i could get rid of the logo haha.
Here is the rear seat from the s550 which take some tweeking but fits into the s197. Still thinking on it tho but also.wondering how difficult it qould.be to have the blue strip center panels sewn into the 550 rear seat faces.
