While I was waiting for my '14 convertible to arrive, I experimented with a USB thumb drive in one of my dealer's cars and produced a Word doc that details how I set it up. I've had several requests for that doc and thought it would be helpful to produce a thread with a title that would be easy to find. The document is four pages long and I'll be happy to send it to anyone who wants it. PM me your email address and I'll send it out.

 

To play from a drive I just plug it in the USB port in the console and use the 'AUX' button on the dash.

 

I'm glad yours is working with no problems. I found that if the thumb drive is not formatted correctly, SYNC won't recognize it. I also found that if the tags on my music files were not setup properly, voice commands through SYNC would fail to find the music I wanted. I've detailed all that in my doc to help anyone who is not lucky enough to have everything just work.
