Painting/wrapping base model dashboard
Recently I've been considering doing the interior pieces in piano black(aka gloss black) but I'm not sure if it would even be possible to do the top part of the dash by the gauges, ac vents, and passenger air bag due to the texture of the base model panels, has anybody tried it?
Seems to me that the vinyl would fall into the gaps and paint wouldn't fill them so it would have to be bondoed/filled in before hand
Really don't wanna have to buy the smooth premium dash panels just to do it

I don't think a leather/vinyl wrap will look right because of the gaps, but I'm sure you could just spray it with a good plastic primer (3M makes some good stuff) and just paint over the primer, you just have to make sure you get in all the creases.
I would get an aerosol can or some kind of paint sprayer to do it, by hand will take forever.
Edit - something like this for a gun, or you can look for aerosol cans if you want to save money. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-16570-Acc...-/121189055345
