MGW Shifter...
So I'm getting ready to get the MGW shifter. I know that if I drove down there and got it, they'd install it for free. Which might be good since the MT-82 is nothing like I've ever worked on.
Anyways have any of you installed it yourself? How difficult is it? And mind you, I don't have access to a lift so how difficult would it be to install without a lift?

It can be done without a lift. I did it on 4 jack stands, and at one point I did have help from my son. He was in the car helping me line up and hold while I tightened the bolts from below. I am not a mechanic by any stretch, and never worked on cars before other than oil changes, and it was fairly easy to install.
The Youtube videos on the install were very helpful for me, and they go over the sockets and tools you will need. I recommend watching them before you install.
In the mods section, you can search on MGW or MGW install and you will find several threads - how to's that are helpful as well.

If you go to the MGW website, they have a youtube link there and it's about an hour long and goes into detail of the whole install. Right from the guys at MGW.

Yep do a search for "MGW" on this forum, and you'll get tons of hits, including threads from yours truly. Install yourself, no lift, enjoy the benefits. MGW site with vids is all you need

Thanks again guys. Sounds good. I'll do that. I'll call tomorrow and have it shipped instead. I was just worried about not having access to a lift. A buddy of mine said most of the install is done from topside. I don't know. Anyways any of you know how long it normally takes to get in?

Extra bonus for getting the MGW now - I think the price has dropped significantly. I remember it being close to $500 but is now listed at $390 on MGW's site. Awesome!

Just installed my MGW this past weekend after waiting 3 weeks for delivery. Well worth the wait IMO. Considered the Barton short-throw with the 2-post bracket, but after seeing countless reviews on each mustang forum about how good the MGW was, I was sold.
Took about 3 hours taking my time and having a friend be the tool gopher. All in all not a very difficult install except for getting the rubber shift boot to sit flush in the tunnel. George, the VP at MGW said to give it about 500 miles to break in a bit more and I'll be even more pleased than I am right now.
