Let there be (more trunk) light!
Got tired of the poor trunk lighting, and how a few bags blocked the light and made the trunk a dark abyss of black. So today, I Added some better lighting to the trunk today.
Changed the trunk bulb to LED, and added a superbrightLEDS 12in strip of LEDs to the bottom of the rear deck lid to light up the part of the trunk closest to the back seats.
Its now sooo much better, and I can actually see my whole trunk at night. Not to mention it matches my interior and license plate LED conversions.
Here's a few pics. They don't really do it justice of how bright it actually is. My iPhone fails to capture that.

Awesome
I did pretty much the same thing on mine, just in Blue. it is nice to be able to see the whole trunk when you have something in it.
Got the Led stick on strip from Wal-Mart and the LED for the trunk from Superbrightleds.

When we did mine we removed the light and soldered the wires onto it and then just ran them in behind the plastic and carpet to hide them. took about 20 minutes.

Mike: Excellent Sir!
Just what I'm looking for. What is the brand name of this LED strip? Where did you find it and how much did the unit cost? Is it a 12v light strip or did you have to modify it for the Stang install? Thanks. "RC"

I bought them from SuperBrightLEDs.

I used the 12in version. It's a 12v strip, so I just tapped it into the existing trunk circuit and switched the trunk bulb to LED so it matched the tube. Works amazingly.

Thanks !
I did almost the same thing, I used 2 strips of white LED lights from Autozone and put them on both sides of the trunk "roof". They're on that angled section like yours are, but "behind" both of the speakers.
I'll have to check out the LED replacement for the trunk light, I didn't do that yet...

Oops meant to post this here! You can use one of these to power an LED strip without tapping into the wiring. You lose the OEM bulb but the strip provides more usable light anyways.
