According to the Ford build site, the Shaker 500 has 8 speakers I sure didn't see 2 more speakers anywhere

Standman where did you purchase your TS-D6802R, the website that adam listed are all sold out. Did you get them from the same place as him?

check eBay. Just make sure they aren't listed as refurbished.

Google Pioneer TS-D6802R. You'll find several places close to that same price.

Just pulled the trigger on 2 sets of TS-D6802R's based on the recommedations I've read here. Crutchfield wanted 149 a pair and Sonicelectric for 79 a pair. Whats up with that Crutchfield? After looking at the comparison pics of the stock units and the Pioneer, crying shame is all I can say.

Your going to love the Pioneer speakers Gregory. I'm old and have lost a lot of my high sound hearing capacity, but with these speakers i can hear the high sounds very good.

I'm not exactly a spring chicken either David. These stock speakers sound like I'm wearing ear plugs.

I've heard way too many horror stories. Do it yourself. Not hard at all.

I have occasionally shopped at BB but I wouldn't let their installers put speakers in a golf cart.

I know the installers at the local BB, and they know what they're doing. If I didn't, I probably wouldn't consider it. I still will most likely do them myself.

I'm interested to hear what you have to say for recommending a replacement set of 6x8s for the stock ones.

This.

Pat I need a recommendation because I'm a total noob when it comes to car audio. I would like to replace the front speakers as well. I don't need anything fancy. I actually really liked the factory speakers in the beginning, but these things are already starting to sound worn out and muffled lol

^^ listening to them is key

but those focal- i dont think youll get alot of bass out of them- most of the other 5x7's were going down to 48 and the focal is 60. Yes you might not need 48 but if the speaker is rated for that itll sound better overall.

the tweeters all sound different- you have to hear them to see the difference. Some sound very tinny some sound hollow some sound crisp etc-

Alot of people really like the pioneer - i prefer polk and jl audio alot.

Speakers will sound different to each person- go in a studio and listen to them all before making your decision.

I listened to the Kicker KS680s and the Polk DXi570s the other night. The Polk had a much smoother sound, and, although a bit tinny, were much lower than the Kickers. They were some of the highest speakers I've heard.

I agree on listening to them to find what you like, I just haven't had time to do so yet. I could live with the Polk's or the Kickers, just have to set up the entire system accordingly.
