Has anyone with a base car yet tried to swap to the premium GT cluster to get Track Apps in their 2013 GT??

Stopped at my dealer today and spoke with their parts specialist. it looks like the cluster is $900 with a $300 core charge. However, the cluster has to be an exact to be considered for the core charge. i guess this means no $300 core charge refund... so essentially $900. then you also need the new steering wheel controls of the premium and a VIN number from a premium so they can get the software download correct.

I would also assume some letter or something would be needed due to change in mileage when this is completed.

I may do this within in the next month or so unless someone knows of a reason that it definitely would NOT work

Assuming it will work otherwise, they can program the mileage at the dealer. I assume it's still stored in the cluster since it always was before on previous Mustangs. I guess they could have moved it to the ECU for the 13s, but I doubt it. GM stores it in the ECU in many cars, so a cluster swap doesn't even affect it.

I would love to do this but it just seems a bit high priced with other unknowns.

True, but this route is still cheaper than the cost of going up from the Base GT to the Premium. I DID NOT want leather seats and after having the 2012 Boss the other frills were not that big a deal to go up to Premium either. Only things I wanted was the Track Apps and other info/readouts availlble on new premium cluster.

Oh I agree I bought my base only option being Brembo pkg. I would love to have the track apps. But $ will go to other mods. I plan on some leather covers down the road as well.
