Another MOD - Reverse Sensors

When I had my 2013 cluster installed I had the tech update the AS BUILT data in my cluster, SJB and Body control module with a car that had Rear Parking Aid. So now every time I go into reverse my LCD displays a PARKING AID ON/OFF message .. however it does not let me turn it on or off.

I assume that is because there is not a Parking Aid Module installed.

I found all the parts on Tousley and it was relatively inexpensive to purchase the necessary parts to add. From Ford I just need the module, the sensor retainers, the harness for the sensors (replaces the license plate light harness) and the speaker for the Beeps.

The sensors are cheap and all over eBay so I won't be purchasing them from Ford.

Hopefully this turns out to be Plug and Play.

Sounds like you got a plan. Below are photos of the inside of my stang's rear bumper showing the location of the sensors and wiring harness if it helps. I took these photos while installing the Boss rear diffuser.

Cool .. Thanks! Incredibly the entire harness you see in that picture was only $18 new!

Got my eBay Sensors today ... painted them satin black to match rear valance. Rest of parts have been ordered and I should have them this week.

Success!! ... all the parts arrived today. ... drilled the bumper, installed the sensors, module and speakers. Works perfect. Cool thing is the 2012 Rear valance was already marked on the back side where to drill the holes so made things simple. I was worried at first since the instructions with the sensor module said programming was required. Said to copy the data from the original module to the new module. But I plugged it in and no programming needed.

Here are the parts (not including sensors) ....

This would only work in a 2012+ car since 2012 was first year of reverse sensors I think. My car had the harness sitting in the spare tire well to plug the sensor module in.

CR3Z15K866A electrical, electrical components, module REVERSE SENSOR 1 $0.00 $84.68 $84.68
W707142S437 electrical, electrical components, module nut REVERSE SENSOR 1 $0.00 $0.55 $0.55
3F2Z15K864BA electrical, electrical components, speaker REVERSE SENSOR 1 $0.00 $17.85 $17.85
W713167S300 electrical, electrical components, speaker screw REVERSE SENSOR 2 $0.00 $0.55 $1.10
CR3Z13412BA electrical, rear lamps, tail lamps, wire harness w/reverse sensor 1 $0.00 $18.56 $18.56
CR3Z15A862AA body hardware, rear bumper, bumper & components, retainer 2010-12 4 $0.00 $4.40 $17.60

Just reading the 2013 owners manual. Says that when Park Assist Speaker begins to beep the volume on the radio will automatically be turned down. I did not have the dealer update the ACM in my car ... just the SJB, BCM and Cluster ... so the volume does not automatically go down. Oh well .. no biggie.

That's cool! So glad this worked out for you and thanks for sharing! So you don't think something like this would work on my wife's 2011 V6 Premium MCA? So on a 2012 you just need these parts and maybe change the "built as" programming?

this looks like a future mod for my 2013, just have to check the part numbers and see what I need.

Not gonna work on 2011 since it was never an option. 2012 just needs parts and as built update.

Here is install pic ... the module goes in spare tire well in existing empty plug ... the studs should already be there. The Speaker goes behind the driver kick panel .. empty plug should already be there too.
