Same idea. However, it is like $250 when you go to purchase it from Crutchfield.

some new information on Crutchfield's site. Note that it also indicates you have to "hardwire" the Perfect fit harness to your factory parking brake and brake pedal wires. Not sure why but it looks like those connections are not simply plug and play.

Note as well that you lose bluetooth and Synch. Not sure if the adapters used on other installations would solve that problem. I dont know if Crutchfield tested them

The Alpine KTX-FPU8 Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package allows seamless integration of the Alpine INE-Z928 multimedia-navigation head unit in select 2010-up Ford Mustangs (non-navigation). This Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package will not retain the factory SYNC system, factory Bluetooth functionality, or factory SiriusXM satellite radio tuners.

I wouldn't mind losing the factory Bluetooth as long as the Alpine has Bluetooth built in. I'd prefer having Navi over the sync system anyway.

I am not using the Synch much either so I think I could let that go and just use the Alpine for phone calls.
Why do you have to connect to the brake pedal and e brake wires? is this so you cant use the Nav while in motion or something like that?

Those wires are only needed if you want it to lock out video in motion and certain nav and setting touchscreen commands. I would just pick up an Alpine bypass module off ebay. The pre-programmed PAC TR7 should work, and they're like 15 bucks. It works on every Alpine I've ever messed with.

And before I get all the flames, I know it's illegal to watch video in motion in many states, but just because the radio is capable of it, it doesn't mean you have to watch it. I just find it annoying to be locked out of the basic nav functions where a passenger can't even mess with it while driving.

I figured that there was a solution to this situation. I doubt I will ever watch a video. I just dont want to cut into the wiring for no good reason. Thanks for the information.

Yes its a lock out feature. The radio should have the BT functions, so I could care less about the car unit. I would wonder about the sat radio though..I need to look uo the radio again and see if its built in.

Edit: Yes, BT is built in, and the XM adapter is 19 bucks on Crutchfield. Not bad...not bad at all. I need to go see this bad boy in person.

Will the Alpine still let you use the steering wheel phone button?
