That was the reason I got the Barton b4 cuz I thought installation was easier... MGW install is actually not bad at all, check out their website there's a new video of the shifter and install... Very detailed, and will make u more confident to tackle the project... If u have and extra set of hands, it will be much easier, I did by myself w/o a problem... Backed up onto rhino ramps, and jacked up the side a little bit so I can slide under for access, so it was a me to get done w/o the wheels having to come off the ground

MGW comes with extra sound dampening material like a little sheet of Dynamat that helps quiet the noise.
I may go with the MGW myself soon. I hear nothing but good things about the MGW shifter.

MGW improved everything compared to the stock shifter. Watch the video on the MGW site - the first part is a side by side comparison. Everything in the MGW is machined vs cast aluminum in the factory shifter. The hardest part to installing the MGW is getting the rubber boot seated properly after you have everything bolted up. What I can suggest there is it takes patience - if you take your time you'll get it on but you have to slowly work it on around the shifter - it will not go on all at once. Also, before you put the boot on adjust the 1-2 stop screw as it will probably need some adjustment and it is easier to work on with the boot off. George at MGW told me Ford made a production change to the shift linkage and now no two transmissions are exactly alike - that's where the adjustment stop comes in. I haven't missed a shift since i installed my MGW and i can't wait to see what it's like after i have a couple thousand miles on it. Great Investment!
