I finally got the new eq installed and ran new speaker wire to the fronts. It sounds so much better! Now I need to figure out why I can hear the other person during a phone call yet they can't hear me. I hope I didn't mess up the sync somehow. I'll have to recheck all of the connections on the back of the radio.

I checked the connections-all okay. My phone updated a few weeks back and I haven't used the Bluetooth/sync since then so I'm thinking it's my phone. I've had other issues with the phone since the update. Sync has no problem hearing my voice commands, it's only during a phone call. Oh well, I don't like getting interrupted while driving anyway.

Try removing the phone from your car, and sync from your phone, restart the phone, then pair it again.

Well I tried that hoping it would work and it didn't.
My stepson works for Ford as a mechanic and he took a quick look at it. He paired his phone to it and still no worky. He didn't have time to troubleshoot it in depth, so I may have to put all of it back to stock and take it in for warranty work. In the meantime, I ordered the 2014 Mustang Electrical Diagram book off of Ebay and may use that before taking it in.

Hey I have not looked at this for awhile I am glad you like the eq. It took me awhile to adjust the sound ( amp gain adjustments) but now I love it. I am old school too and like rich sound from the back.
I did have a problem with my SYNC but it had nothing to do with the PAC or stereo upgrades. The dealer had to do a software upgrade on my 14 gt and then it worked great again. Now I am on to the dark side adding VMP GEN 2 in one month. Install pictures to come. Going for 600rwhp

You really should not have to put the old system back as long as the factory HU is there the dealer should not void the warranty. You might have problems if you used the other PAC adapter for using the synch and steering wheel controls to a new HU. Hopefully your dealer is good about that.

When you had the SYNC software update done, did you have the PAC AOEM-FRD24 installed inline? SYNC has no problem hearing my commands, but during a phone call, the other person can barely hear me. I have to yell for them to hear me. Was this the same problem you were having?
Thanks

No I did not but the PAC really should have no affect on the SYNC. I have heard on forums that sometimes the dealers can be a pain. But realistically if they want your business they should work with you especially in this case. My sync was all messed up it would sometimes recognize the phone and other times would not. It would get confused and keep asking me questions. Did you get your Mustang new from the dealer? If so I would check with them. When you did your PAC install did you remove the HU completely? I did not, I pulled it out a little and just connected up the PAC. I have no idea where the mic is or if a connection in back is loose. Everything else works fine? Maybe on the electrical wiring diagram it shows where the mic is. I would research that. I kind of doubt it is a loose wire seems like the mic should work or not. I could be wrong. I think you said it does the same with a different phone too. Just curious does your Bluetooth audio work fine too?

Yes I got it new right off of the truck/trailer. It's only messing up during phone calls. I finally got the OEM electrical diagram book in but haven't researched too much because of work and other stuff going on. I'll look into it this weekend. My Bluetooth works just fine.

Where does the PAC AOEM-FRD24 install in the system? I have the Shaker 500 system and I thought I had read that it goes in between the the wiring harness and the amps that are installed in the drivers side kick panel area. I thought it was just a plug and play deal?

Yes it is plug and play and works great I think I have picture of it under the radio. Back a couple of pages. It connects into the main wiring harness at the back of the radio, it has two connectors for an inline connection.

Thanks. I thought I had read the whole thread. I will go back and look. I thought I had seen somewhere where it looked like it plugged in closer the amps. guess I'll have to be getting behind the radio then.

I have pictures on page 2 showing the PAC there is another link to some install pictures too. It is not too bad I would get the interior removal tool kit though. You don't have to worry about scratching anything then.

Another question on the PAC. Will it allow me to use the factory ampc for both front and rear speakers but just add an amp for a sub?

If you have the Shaker, there is only one amp and that is for the door subs. If you have the Shaker Pro, then you have two amps, one for the door subs and one for the trunk sub. There are no amps for the door or rear deck speakers. They run off of the head unit. I added both an amp(4 channel) and EQ to power the speakers and what a difference that made.

Ok, so with the PAC the factory amp will still power the door woofers and will allow me to use additional amplification for either a sub or the other speakers?

Hey there. Did you get your Sync/Phone issues worked out? Mine is doing the same thing after I installed the PAC last night. The phone will ring through Sync but when I pick up I can't hear them and they can't hear me. Isn't there a way to check for Sync updates online and install them without going to a dealer?

No, I haven't checked into it yet. I don't like talking on the phone when driving, so maybe one day I'll get around to getting it working. I have no problem hearing the other person, they just can't hear me. It's got to be an issue with SYNC because I put everything back to factory and it still had the same problem.
My stepson works for Ford so I'll ask him if SYNC can be updated without taking it to them.
