I got a problem with a install I’m doing, the microphone won’t pic any noise up and the dtc is just a General Electric failure. This is really beating the crap out of me, I did this retrofit fine in my 2012 but in my 2010 I can’t do it, I have tried multiple microphones both 13 and 10 style, I have tried 2 radio heads one has 2013 programming other is 2010, and I tried 3 different sync modules, 2 nav and one standard sync. I have been trying fords procedures in the service manual but nothing is working. I have continuity through all the leads but the I can’t get the mic working...

Just need to update the map now
Add one more to the list. Many thanks to Jim for the idea and a lifetime thanks to Alex for his brilliant install. Now have a 13’ Boss LS with navigation and a dual zone climate system. Also, as you can see in the picture, the VIN automatically pulls from the CAN.

Thanks also go out to all the thread members that answered questions. It has all been greatly appreciated.

Just completed the oem nav install and the 2014 cluster with select a shift and abs module. I am having an issue with the sync button and hang up button on steering wheel. I did get the one from nav sticky. But now my car reads as 2013 could that be the reason they do not work. they are giving me an error in ids B1201 steering wheel audio switch pack 2 failure type 1C circuit voltage out of range. I was told that my sync module needs to be one with nav installed. my question is it possible to program the sync module or does someone offer this service? Or am I going to have to find a used module? awoychosky123 has been helping me on this and he is amazing

I was able to use forscan to program the APIM still getting issue but now the error is only acm error Description B1201 steering audio switch pack 2 Failure type 1C circuit out of range. Status 0A (current DTC) Fault is currently present Diagnostic Protocol -14229

How do I test the switch to make sure that is not the issue and is there anything else I should check?

Just shot you a pm. For everyone not following, 2013 they updated the nav switch part number. So if you are running with a 2013 acm and apim you will probably need the 2013 switch as resistors may have changed.

I forgot to mention if you do want to test the switch first I do have the 2013 service manual with pinpoint test R I could send you, but unless you have fords diagnostic equipment all you could really do is use a multimeter and measure resistance and power.

Huh ... mine did NOT update the VIN. After all these years, it still displays the donor car's VIN.

All I know is that the phone switches for a nav car vs a non-nav car are not the same. You will definitley need to get a phone switch specific to a nav car.

I did what Fishpick said and took my original vin .ab file and edited to contain the updated module information then I used IDS disconnected from the internet to update PCM which it took from edited .ab file and since I am using 108.01 it just asked me to enter the info for the abs, ipc and arm. Used Forscan to update APIM. My car now shows my vin but shows up on ids as 2013. So waiting to get updated tune which I was told 13/14 have different torque specs and hopefully the new switch will fix nav issue.

added a 2014 cluster did wiring for left switch (seems to work ok and arrows work so does cruise on. I have not done the rest since I have not driven the car)and changed the steering wheel harness for a 2013/2014.

Could there be a short. I see that the left switch C2999 connection 3 and 2 are for phone and voice which is what I am having issue. Can I just connect the switch to 6 and 4 on C2274a to see if it works? I would disconnect switch from harness and use old harness to splice the two wires bypassing the clock spring. would that work?

switch I am using

Error I am getting

Looks like the right switch alright.

Try it.

I don't have my wiring diagrams, so I can't look at any of this for you yet.

Ok this is my issue the buttons work outside usb and Bluetooth audio. in navigation in radio fine. when I hit voice and select usb from radio it works but it does not give me an option for playlist or song or anything just shows usb same thing with Bluetooth audio at that point the voice button does not work. in radio I hit voice it ask for radio station etc. So is the software wrong on acm and how do I fix it? Selected off and now it works

I have been reading this thread so much lately. I got all my stuff, except the gps/satellite splitter harness. I was hoping it would come with the Dash harness. Now, I have to order another $150 plus part before I dig into this. I am going aftermarket Amp. My main concern is the dash. I want to take the dash out, but do I have to remove the steering wheel? If I do, I may just tackle it with all panels removed. I got a nav unit from a 2013, do it have a built in amp? I am sure I have more questions, but must go to bed. Thanks for this thread, it is a big help. Anybody have the gps/satellite splitter harness laying around willing to sell?

Update: Add another successful mod to the list. I did my 2012 GT500, now all I am waiting on is the gps splitter harness and a after market amp. Everything works so far, even reads my vin. Sirius works, synch works (minus the phone buttons), I get a little sound, that's about it. two quick questions....I have a nav from a camera car, I have a camera installed (connected to Kenwood head unit), it has a RCA jack. How do I connect it to the ACM (search with zero results). The camera feature works, just a black screen. Second question, do anyone makes a harness to bypass the stock amp so I can use the stock wiring and not have to cut, splice, or run new wires for sound? I don't want a booming system, just enough to enjoy and all features work. I have contemplating this project for a while, worth while. Not very hard, once all bolts were loose, dash came out easy, I did take the steering column off.
