2014 mustang rear speaker install need help!!

OK so i am going to install rear speakers in my base 2014 stang.

Here are the instructions from Cruthfield. Is it really that simple? Why are people removing the bottom seat and the sills?

That does look a lot easier. Hum....I havent installed or purchased rears (yet) for the reasons you mentioned. Maybe it is a little different for a 13/14? The install threads and videos were for 05-10 models I believe.

Because you need too. You'll find out quickly that its needed. Interior wise there isn't much different from 10-14 model years.

Crutchfield is a good guide and that's where it ends. Try their recommendation and see if it works without removing the sides and seat.

The seat bottom and sills get in the way of the side trim panel removal. The side trim panel is in the way of the package tray panel. The package tray panel is in the way of the speaker replacement.

Ergo, bottom, sills, sides, top, speakers, then reversed. That's why. It's just a ton easier to do it right, and also less hazardous to your interior, although indeed, with all the plastic in an interior, there is always room for danger and plastic not being happy about the way it's manipulated/removed.

I'm thinking the crutchfield instructions will 'work', but not as well or correctly as taking the time to do it the right way.
