2012 Shaker 500 Sounds Better Than 2011 Shaker 500
Just wanted to share that I noticed something about the radio in my recent switch from a 2011 5.0 convertible to a 2012 5.0 coupe. Both had Premium and 401A.
My 2011 just plain didn't have much high-frequency response, despite having treble dialed up as high as it would go! I had planned to eventually swap out to 6x8 Pioneer speakers in the front doors, as Eric N had done. Even my beater Toyota with a $150 Blaupunkt stereo sounded better re treble response (the 2011 Mustang's bass was sufficient since I am not about rattling other cars' rear view mirrors). There was a significant difference in fidelity going from one car to the other. As shared on other threads, due to medical issues I ended up trading in my 2011 on the 2012.
So this 2012 GT's stereo simply sounds better! The high-end response is there, and at least equal to my Toyota's. The bass is also marginally better, as I'd expected with the improvement in rear speaker placement going from a 'vert to a coupe. But the improvement in sound from the front speakers was a surprise.
I am not posting this to say "Nyah, Nyah", just sharing what I thought was an interesting, unexpected observation.
Is there anyone else that has directly compared an '11's stereo to a '12's? Any similar or dffering experience?
