2011 Gen1 Sync / Clarion Nav question
2011 Gen1 Sync / Clarion Nav question
Searches leave ambiguous vague answers, though this is a common topic.
On the Gen1 Clarion Nav cars (2011 mustang electronics package), is V3.1 really the most up to date version of the software? Its almost 4 years old!
I've seen rumblings of dealer installed updates and NAV DVD updates, but those appear to be seperate.
What's the official/up to date word on this?

Were you experiencing SYNC issues that prompted this inquiry?
The easiest way to tell if there's an update for your specific system is to check your www.support.ford.com account. Log in and make sure the correct VIN is added to the account. Any updates will be listed under the Vehicle To-Do List on the main page. If a dealer-installed update is available, it will be specified in the description.
Navigation updates are handled through our software partner, Navteq. Their website is: www.navigation.com
Hope this helps!

The website mentions 3.1 is the most up to date version, however its been saying that since 2010... can that be right?
2012+ cars seem to be running much newer software versions. My phone worked much more reliably in my last rental car than in my personal mustang.
Hi Kim, yes some issues prompted this, the lack of MAP messaging support and some quirks with connections to phones prompted me to check (additionally was looking to see if applink was being added to the 11's but apparently not).

Announcements about future updates will be posted here: http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pf...cmb&listMode=0 Check it out to stay in the loop.
