Window Tint Question

Curious how this works for cars in which the windows roll down a quarter inch when the door is opened.

When they tint, do they open the door so it drops a quarter inch, roll the window all the way back up, then tint, and not worry about the tint getting scrunched up on the bottom 1/4" of the window every time you get in and out of the car until it cures? Does that 1/4" of up and down not seem to be a big deal? I ask because they of course couldn't tint the windows in the 1/4" down position, then you'd have a 1/4" strip of untinted window at the bottom.

Hmm good question. I haven't thought about this. Of course any competent tint shop would be aware of this, since cars have had frameless windows that drop down for years, but still I'm not sure. Glad you asked lol

I believe they remove the door panel enough so they can hit the entire surface of the window. I dont know for sure though

The window can be triggered to completely roll up while the door is open. Take a screwdriver, and rotate the lock mechanism in the door.

You just gotta remember to reset the lock and avoid slamming the lock on the latch.
