Also, how does one go about finding someone who does a good job of putting these on. Also, what type of care do the stripes take? I am assuming I would go with a tape rather than having them painted on. Is there any brand that stands out above others. And for installation, what is a fair price for the job?
Flat black is a great, subtle way to go on a dark car. I installed flat black striped on my sterling gray '11 5.0L last year. Take your time, and you can do them yourself and save a ton of cash....

I like stripes on them, flat black, white, silver, or red. The cool thing is which ever you choose, it will look great!

Edit: really with black you can do whatever you want: yellow, orange, purple, blue, it all looks good on black.

I got mine from AM and yes they are 3M. They give you plenty of extra which is great because due to trial and error I had to do my hood twice. I still had some left over as well.

Here's my thread on the install..

Hope that helps.

Where did you get these stripes, I kind of like how they begin at the "cowl" portion of the hood. How much were these?

+1 on that. If saw Shelby stipes on a Camaro I would say the same thing.

My car has the hood scoop on it & I don't think it looks odd at all.Very happy with the outcome!

^^^The stripes look great with the scoop!

I had "Boss-style" stripes put on my '14 GT about a month ago. I think it was around $260 installed (including replacement black 5.0 badges).

I don't think you could have gone wrong with either color on that car, but I probably would have done the silver myself. You chose... wisely.

Little off topic, but I love the blue on that truck in the background of miner999r's picture (btw, the car looks great too ). If this blue had been available on the '14 Mustang it would have been my color of choice... To bad Ford doesn't allow "special order" paint codes like they did in the 60s!

Lothar, thanks- the Sterling Gray was a bit dark for me at first, but the silver stripes has really made me fall in love with the color.

I say stripe it and go with red gloss, imo. I have seen black stangs and shelby's at car shows with red on black and it POPS!
I had mine put on by a pro for 975 all inc. 3m.

Looks great but that's a little too much money for me to spend on vinyl. One day I will get them painted on and then like 4 coats of clear over them and the rest of my car.

That's an awesome photo, DarrenGT--not just the car, but the whole photo.

It's called Blue Flame metallic, and I agree with you, would look great on a Mustang.

Stevedotmil, it is alot of money but for me the stripes made the look for me, plus the wheels so it was worth it to me. I don't have the patience to tackle a job like that myself, so i coughed it up.

Lothar: Thanks for the compliment. Have you got your GT yet?
