Just finished installing 5" Le Mans stripes

I got these 5" LeMans stripes in metallic silver from my lovely wife for Christmas. They were on my build list on AmericanMuscle.com and she hooked me up. It took me two days to complete. I had to do the hood over once so that used up most of the extra that I had once I measured everything out and cut my pieces. Overall I'm super happy with the way it turned out. I will get some better pics up once I get her out of the garage but for now here yah go.

Let me know what you think.

I like how they line up with the lp, but stop teasing us with partial pics!

Looks great man! I love the Blue and Silver scheme, definitely one of my personal favorites. You did a great job with the install, they line up great!

Thanks for sharing! I look forward to checking out the updated pictures.

Tomorrow I will get some good pics. I had some stuff to take care of on the To Do list before I head to another country.

The silver and blue look awesome. Being a perfectionist, I'd be torn on whether to do them myself or have someone else do them. You did a great job.

I indeed did install them myself in the garage. Anyone interested in doing this project should remember to be cautious of how long you take after wetting the backing to peel it off leaving just the stripes. If you get the backing too saturated the glue separates from the paper backing instead of the stripes leaving you with all the glue stuck to your stripes and a soggy mess. As soon as I have some more time I'm going to adjust some of the instructions that came with them and post them on here to help everyone else out. This is the reason that I had to do the hood twice.

Also when doing smaller pieces that will move around quite a bit when there is soapy water under them it's a better idea to just carefully peel both backings off and spray the stripe piece. Take special care to use a microfiber towel to smooth the piece out and push the water out without stretching the decal or sticking it where you don't want it. The smaller pieces are tricky but once you get the process down it's cake.

In total I used 48 separate pieces of decal to get them on. On the steep curved edges you overlap them at the crease so that you can't tell where they meet when the light hits them such as the bumpers and the wing. Also this is where the angle of your bumper comes into play sloping outward toward the sides of your car. The separate sections of decal help with this. I used SoftSoap hand soap in my mixture. 1 TBSP / 10 oz of water. This worked perfectly.

Hope this sheds a little light on how to do it yourself. Busy day today and it rained. Pics might have to wait.
