Side scoops
I have a 2011 GTCS and I'm not particularly fond of the side scoops behind the door. I'm thinking of trying to remove them but I'm worried that there may be alignment holes in the body panel underneath... Like they use to mount the 5.0 badge on the front fender. Does anyone know whether this is the case? Thanks
It's sorta part of what makes it a GT/CS in the first place. I'm kinda surprised you bought a GT/CS and want to pull that stuff off. Ever see the huge pocket/vents they put on the original 60's GT/CS? huge.
make sure you keep the velcro stuff you take off the windows if you remove the louvers. it's a special and expensive kind of velcro that isn't easy to replace.
makes selling the louvers easier because you can always put new 3m tape on the velcro fasteners.

I can appreciate your observation. My favorite mustang that I have owned was bullitt #6333. No badges, etc. the GTCS cleans up the front and I dig the rear diffuser. Also... No 5.0 badge with alignment holes in the fender ;-)
Actually, the side scoops on the 1968 GTCS are borrowed from the Shelby, as is the trunklid and taillights. The reason it's so huge is that the scallop behind the door is longer and deeper, and the scoop area itself is actually raised up and projected forward from the body line.

This is why that specific look is so fresh in my mind :-)
As was the case with the 68, the new ones are merely appearance upgrades over the gt. it's kinda too bad that you can't get region specific "specials" like you could in 68. That would be much cooler than driving a "California special" in, say, Texas.
The selling "dealer" deals in nothing but "dream cars"
For example, they also have a '70ish Boss Cobra Jet with a Coyote 5.0 and T-56 in it, and a legit '66 Shelby GT350 with the supercharged 289 and a WC T-5
You name it they have it.. '55 Chevy 210 with a LT1 and 700R4, Multiple A-Bodies (GTO, Chevelle), '62 Impala SS 409, multiple 67-71 Camaro Z/28, RS, RS/SS, restomods, prostreet, etc.
Jaguars, 911's, Grand Nationals, 442's... They even had an old Mini one time, but that sold quick. I know early this year they had taken in on trade a '10-12 GT500 Grabber Blue/White Stripe SuperSnake. If I recall the trade was for a numbers matching '69 Z/28.
Pretty much everything older has been gone through, restored, customized, and the like. Car person's wet dream.
