Show off and tell; new wheels/tires
Silver Forgestar CF5's, 18x9" +35mm and 18x10" +42mm. (Howey Industries). Continental Extreme Contact DW's (best price was tirerack.com), 255/45-18 and 285/40-18.
Tires arrived week and half ago, wheels and tpms sensors this morning. TPMS are new OE's off the bay for $100 delivered. Self sync'd immediately. Doesn't get any better than that. Dealer wanted $86/each w/is MSPR. Stuff from vendors, non OE, that require a tool are $205/everything...blank that.
Only managed to put ~ 75 miles on the car today and as they still feel a bit slick haven't pushed them real hard, but so far I like them quite a bit.
These wheels are ~ 21 and 22 #, 8-10# lighter than my OE 18x8 silver 5 spokes and rear OE style silver 5 spoke in 18x10 from American Muscle w/ AS tires. Car accelerates a little quicker, no doubt.

Wheels look killer! I keep telling this to everyone I see, but I absolutely love that Impact Blue color! Great setup, I hope you're enjoying all the looks you're probably getting on the street.
Thanks for your support and posting pics up!

Thanks, Gents. Appreciate it, Shane.
Thinking of seeing if my local body shop can unchrome my pony and 5.0 emblems and paint them to match the wheels. They're not a bright silver, but almost a couple shades from silver towards gunmetal. Really goes well with this kona...pics in that bright setting sun kind of throw both colors off a bit.
Also extreemely pleased with these tires. The summer compound and wider print make quite a diff in stickage compared to the 235/275 A/S's I've been running.

been on vacation, thanks for all the additional compliments
tet, they're not gloss but I don't know if I'd call them matte...perhaps satin. Forgestar simply calls them silver. They are darker than the OE 5 spoke silver rims.

Thanks for that info. With the offset of those rear wheels and that size tire in the rear, do your tires stay just inside the fender well ?

Yup, just inside the well. Thanks, Oz. Yes, the car noticably accelerates a bit quicker. Imagine almost two 5# sacks of sugar less to spin up at each corner.
I've yet to drive it on a track (don't have the brakes for it) but the less mass should help the car brake a little better and help the suspension react. I drive it pretty hard around the canyons/mountains but don't know if I can separate that aspect from the increased grip of these tires compared to my 235/275 Pirelli/Michellin all season set.
After replacing my suspension with the Ford Racing FR3 adjustable and then adding these wheels and tires, the car's on a whole different level than it was. Extreemely impressed and I also love the way it looks.
In fact, over the holiday I spent 14 total hours on the cars finish. Citrus wash to strip sealant/wax. Clay bar and another citrus wash. DA buffer w/fairly aggressive compound on several areas than swirl remover on the whole car. Then DA applied sealant (Black Fire Wet Diamond...or is it Black Diamond Wet Fire...my butt's still draggin') and the car looks increadible.
