My Roush splitters came in the mail today along with some other goodies. For those who have installed the splitters:

Any tips? Why are some installed splitters I've seen really wavy? How long before the young ones knock them off getting in and out of the backseat? The splitters are more flimsy than I anticipated.

The only tip i can give is to be careful taking the plastic pins out of the stop piece...they break pretty easy

Theres factory pieces In front of the rear tires attached to the stock side skirts. I removed them or else the splitters wouldn't sit flush in the rear. They are almost like a hidden mudflap. I just removed them. The directions didn't mention them.

Other then that, straightforward. Just clean with alcohol real good first

Can the Splitters be installed with the flaps or is too tight? I really like the flaps. They keep the splash down.

I put mine in with those flaps there a few weeks ago. Wasn't happy with the way it went together.... but you have to look at it from very low (like on the ground) to see where it's not right. But this morning I noticed the passenger side was all out from under everything and 'crooked'. I used some 3M tape to try get it to stay back where it belongs, but that's not holding very well. Never occurred to just take them off.

As to the 'flimsy'... that was my immediate thought as well. But the tape and 10 push thingies hold it up there pretty good. I'll still kick it getting in and out occasionally, though.

Thanks guys. That is why I love this forum. I had a hunch about one of the flaps because it is a little warped. I thought it may create some distortion to the material when installed. Thanks again! I'm taking those flaps off.

they do offer places to drill holes in the rocker panel which i recommend using. 3 holes in each piece and push additional pins through them keep them tight to the rocker panel

Installed mine without removing the flaps, have been fine so far. I did drill the extra holes for the additional push pins.

Do those flaps really even do anything? I could see if the were on the rear bumper run they would prevent splash. Now that I think about it, I guess they only prevent splash on the under carriage? Pics welcome btw.

I left the flaps on. I just cut them in a way that they wouldn't put force on the Roush splitters and everything looks fine. And yes, they keep the water from splashing all over the Roush spliters. So it keeps them a bit cleaner looking then if you would just remove them. I drive through some nasty stuff so it was important to keep them on.

Here's how I cut the rears. I used a Dremel cutting tool.
