Roush Bumper install and fog delete (pic heavy)
I appreciate that. It still has a special place in mine as well!! Not that the current Red Candy car isn't nice and all, but it's not my baby that I went on-line and built exactly the way I wanted. Then planned out all my mods to make her different from the rest at the time. I miss that car a lot and I don't think my kids have forgiven me yet
Quick question. In the official Roush installation manual it mentions installing the Roush radiator shields (left and right). What purpose do these serve and did you install them? I plan on buying my fascia off ebay and I don't think it comes with the shields. Thanks!

Yeah I just saw that too, but I did the same, I bought it off ebay and it didnt come with those shields. Havent exp any problems so far and not sure what purpose they currently serve.
maybe for rocks deflection? Not sure, but I plan to get the lower bar as well so that should take care of that
but yeah hope this install helps you out man and post pics when your done
Okay that's good to hear. Hopefully it works out okay. A guy on my other forum just told me that he is having alignment issues because his bumper is being pushed out a bit by the stock radiator shield; he also bought his off ebay. Maybe it varies from car to car. His and mine are both V6 though; not sure if there are any differences in the rad shields between the GT and V6.
This makes me somewhat leery of starting this install though. I don't have much experience with body work and if I run into problems I'm not sure whether I'll be able to rectify them without making something worse.

hey Rob, good to see ya man
Yeah Matt, Rob was the one who help me link up with the seller on ebay.
But yeah I checked the online instructions from Roush and it says if it doesnt line up right you can add shims. I didnt have any probs with mine but I guess there is a possibility other bumpers may not line up right. But it looks like it is corrected with those shims.
the instructions are in a pdf so i can't post a pic of it, but I will see if i can post the direct link.

Oh okay! I'll just have to be on the look out for this when I install. I may not do that before winter rolls around here though; I don't necessarily want to be rolling around with a new bumper when there are 20 ft snow banks. But I have arranged to pick up a Roush bumper for $150 and plan on painting it for $200. Overall a pretty good deal I guess, even if I have to do some trimming.

Yeah its definitely much cheaper than directly from Roush or a reseller. Now I'm just debating whether to put a 3M wrap on it but that's going to be another $300. In any case, if you find out where you read about the radiator shield trimming can you please let me know? Thanks a lot!
thanks for the write up dude!
Also Thanks for the write up. I'm ordering my next . I need to have someone paint my, as Roush does not do Sunset Gold. Like the new look.
