According to bill at https://themustangsource.com/f802/20...2011-a-508657/

It is a direct swap with the exception of a slight design change at the bottom of the light. There's about a 1/2 inch gap I believe if you install pre 13 tails on 10-12. If I had it I have a few ideas where I think I could make the gap dissapear, but I don't think I will dish out almost a $1000 for each tails from FORD. I am anxiously waiting for raxiom to make this happen. I'm sure they will, but the question is, how original is the final product going to look. I'm hoping the final quality will be as good as the OEM.

I like the idea from young stang also. Not the same as the actual 13 lights but for about 40-50 bucks, I would be all over it until raxiom or some other company come out with a knock off. Not going to lie. I am very jealous of the 2013 black LED lights. The front is ok, but they can keep the fish mouth. The new HID with LED bars look awesome tho.

more than anything else, can AM give us a status update? I'm still in the dark regarding where the development of 2013 replica lights stands. if it's 6 months out, i'm buying OEM tails. If it's in the next month or two, i'll wait. fitment made to fill the 2010-2012 dip in the bumper? any news would be appreciated

I think all that may be needed is an AfterMarket bezel ... that fits around the 2013 lights .. making them slightly larger at the bottom, making the 2013 lights shaped like the 2010+lights and covering the gap ...

agreed. this would be an easy way of killing two birds with one stone. if the gap were any bigger, it may look goofey, but i think it'll look fine with a small trim piece.

And you could get it painted to match your car. Easy enough.
