Powder Coating Question

I was planning on getting my stock wheels powder coated to look like the mca edition wheels.

Here's what they look like now.

I want them to look like this

I called a powder coating service today, and they said it'd be about 30 per wheel plus and extra 100 for gray (Probably extra if it's not the gray they have).

They also said that it couldn't have a clear coat and the rims couldn't be cast aluminum.

My question is are the rims cast aluminum? I also think they have a clear coat on them, so how would you remove it? Has anybody had any experiences with powder coating to this color?

Call another powder coater. They aren't all the same $30 sounds really cheap and cheap isn't necessarily good. There should be no problem powder coating cast aluminum wheels which yours are it is done all the time. Also the coater should do all the prep or they won't guaranty the quality. Expect to pay close to $100 per wheel for a good job.

Well the problem is that that's pretty much the only powder coating service around where I live. I think the next closest would be about 2 hours away. So I'm not sure what to do...

This. If someone told me to do the prep work before taking them in, I'd tell them to shove it. I'm paying them.

I guess i'll be waiting a while before I do it because that's the only service around me that I know of. I guess I'll have to break down and drive 2 hours if I really want to do it.
