Paint the gunnery flap?
Paint the gunnery flap?
Well I got and installed my gt500 spoiler over the weekend, while i was at it i had to restripe the drunk and bumper. But i held off on the spoiler cause the curves and dips it has, i knew would be a lot longer process but the more i look at it the more i think i want to not stripe it and just paint the gunnery flap a matching green color to the stripes. Any thoughts? Cause right now i think it looks pretty good not striped.
The Gurney Flap is the bobbed section on the 1 1/4" wide plastic strip on the spoiler, it's about 1/4 to 5/16" wide.
.
................( painting just the flap might look odd )
.
My 2011 doesn't have a Gurney Flap, the plastic strip is flat.
...........( 2011 SVTPP cars got the Gurney Flap as part of a package )
.
My 2014 has a Gurney Flap.

I don't really understand your formatting but, okay.
Just to clarify I'm not looking for spelling corrections or a better understanding of what it is. I'm just searching for input if anyone has input on painting it vs not painting it.
My thought was, if you knew what it was, you would see how foolish it would look striped or painted.
You think the entire plastic strip is the Gurney Flap, it isn't.
It's only the very end of the strip, the bobbed end, about 1/4 or 5/16".
.
But answer your question, painting the Gurney Flap would look stupid.

That flap should always remain flat black regardless of color scheme.
It's an accent piece.
(You wouldnt stripe your plastic 10-12 lower valance...) heh
No worries. It won't disrupt your stripe aesthetic because it's subtle. Note: Painting the gurney flap is a personal choice... Not mine tho. Awesome car. Good luck!

I didn't comment on your actual question because I don't care. Besides, it's your car, so my opinion don't mean dick.
The lip on my spoiler is matte black, but I'm almost sure that fact won't help you in your quest for the perfect Gurney flap.
Feel better now?
Anyway, just leave it as is. It would match the unpainted plastic on the bumper.
Don't hate on the V6
I owned one before I sold it for the GT. I just think he's ridiculous since he said So then why comment at all? Whatever, I'm done letting it bother me.
