I am also in the market. I had been looking mostly into a Cervinis Ram air hood. While I do like the look of it, there just aren't that many photos out there of aftermarket hoods. I looked up the Saleen hood after seeing it mentioned on here, and that is also very nice looking.

I've looked at the Cervini Stalker hoods on-line and thought "Dang, that's a nice hood." However, I haven't seen one in person- so I've been able to "resist the urge."

Fast forward to Tuesday night... my son drags me to a Mustang meet (bunch of 20 somethings meet at the local Sonics). I decided to leave the '14 at home and take the '65 (the kids always get a kick out of the "old school stang").

Right next to me parks a '14 in Sterling Grey (just like mine) with a Stalker hood. Duh-rooooooollll! I may just have to purchase one of these. I just need to figure out how to make the Boss 302 stripe scheme work with the hood...

Lol, what awesome timing!

This is great, that is also the color of my car. I'm assuming you scope it out pretty well; did the vents (i assume they are plastic?) look the part? In terms of the scoop itself, did it flow nicely in person, or seem to oddly jump out too much? I have seen that on other hoods in person that looked great in pictures.

In regards to the Saleen Powerflow hood...did they not continue production to 13-14 models? I can't seem to find it in stock anywhere, and even so, they all refer to 10-12 year.

Looking over the list again, the VIS racing looks similar to the Saleen....but I can;t seem to find a 2014 version of that either! Anybody know a hood that actually continued into 2014 that has a similar appearance so that I can compare?

Everything about the Stalker hood looked just perfect- good fitment and the scoop looks amazing.

I would probably get the kit that makes the scoop functional (even though I have a CAI and I'm not sure how I would hook it up. The scoop is pretty tall and you can see back into the engine.

The paint was jussst a tad off (which the owner of the car pointed out to me). He said he had it painted- I don't know if the pre-painted hood straight from Cervini is a perfect match or not). Honestly, I probably would not have the hood repainted- and I'm pretty picky. It is 99.4% matched as it is.

It seemed like every Mustang there had a non-factory hood- it was interesting to see 8-9 different aftermarket hoods all in one place.

I totally agree about the Stalker Hood! I never really liked aftermarket hoods on the 13 14 MY. But that one looks nice. My concern is what the underside looks like. Does anyone have pictures? My friend has a really nice SN with a really good looking hood. But when he pops it at shows I do not like the way the underside looks...

New to this, so forgive my ignorance. What do you have to add to make the scoop functional? I assumed that the opening would funnel the air as necessary for improvement. What does the upgrade change?

I also have another question...

Will these aftermarket hoods work with Redline or MRT hood struts?

I emailed Redline tuning and asked the same thing. They said it is not a 100% guarantee that their struts would mount up the same and not damage the hood. I will probably have to go with a different style strut when I replace my hood with a Tiger Racing hood in the coming months. Not looking forward to getting rid of perfectly good redline tuning hood struts, but I suppose I can always sell them.

The fellow with the Stalker hood said it is quite heavy- possibly as heavy or heavier than the stock hood (which is odd, because I believe its made out of fiberglass).

Isn't fiberglass generally heavier than aluminum?

this is REALLY good to know.

So if I go with Cervini's Stalker II, they make a pair of hood struts just for this???

From what i was told by redline tuning and chicane23 yes. It is possible that a strut with too much preload will warp the hood in the attachment point. Not enough strength and the hood will not stay open. I will be deferring to the resellers opinions on this one. Sure, they may be trying to make an extra buck but i would rather be safe than sorry. These hoods are shockingly expensive and in the case of the tiger racing hood will still need to be painted. Dont want it damaged from using the incorrect struts.
