New Wheel Option???

I would love to get some nice aftermarket staggered 19'' or 20'' black wheels, but I dont have the means at the time. As a matter a fact, even if I did, there s so many other things I would love to do first. So with that said, I came across an ad on craigslist of a guy selling 18" pony package wheels for $400. I ve always liked them, but would love them in black. It would be a cheap alternative and would keep me satisfied for a while. So wanted your opinions? Yay or Nay?

Current Look with stock 18"

If you've got other things you'd rather get first, I'd put the $400 toward that. If you're going to eventually get the ones you want, it seems like you'd be wasting $400 on these. Just my opinion.

I thought the same. Only way I'd say do it, is if you sell the stock wheels for $500 and make some money off the deal. Or just dip your stock wheels?...

I guess both of you have a point there. Maybe I will just stay with my stock 18" and plasti dip them or have them powder coated.

I just bought a set from wheel replicas....

This is them on my car:

I bought tires/wheels/centercaps/TPMS/mounted & balanced/shipped/ for about $1500. If you buy these and sell yours on Craigslist for $800? You would only be out $700. If you are willing to spend $400 on throw-away wheels, there are options out there for you for just a little more.....

Wait for the ones that you want. I always become dissatisfied with halfway measures, and think that I should have waited until I can get what I really want.

I would like to trade my wheels for the 2006 - 2008 highly polished aluminum wheels that Ford offered. Too bad we can't buy them new anymore. The used ones have scratches.

I have thought of plasti dipping my wheels, just havent gotten around to doing it. I have gotten a quote from a local shop to have them painted which would cost me $250. I just like the pony package wheels a little more because they have a similar pattern to rtr's, amr's, etc. I know that they are polished but plasti dipping them gives it a nicer look, almost glossy, because they are polished. I could always sell them in the future as well to put toward some aftermarket 19"s or 20"s, idk. I would love to have my complete finished product and I know that it aint going to happen all at once, so I guess I gotta really think about what I want my next mods to be.
Exterior: black roof, lower front fascia, painted lower valences, hood scoop, wheels
Performance: gears, LCAs, x pipe, boss manifold
Interior: Leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, upgraded sound system, added accents

On a second note, after cleary thinking it through. I think that performance wise, I m good for now. Interior would probably be my last focus. So I think I would like the black roof to balance out with the hood spears and black oem spoiler. Maybe even the Boss/CS lower front fascia and make time to plasti dip my current wheels. Possibly get the glossifier to give the wheels that gloss black look.

Look on here, People have plastic dipped their rims and there was another product that was used to make them matt and not glossy.
