new car paint. how long to fully cure?

Getting my GT in a few weeks and was thinking about trying out plasti dip to see if I wanted stripes. However, I do not want to destroy my clear coat . Ive read different things about it may cause damage to s newly painted car but have never seen any proof

I just had my factory hood repainted at Ford and I asked about this very topic. He told me it is good to go immediately. He said that the new materials are not a problem. Took him at face value for what he said..

Anything freshly painted i've always waited two weeks to mess with. Whether or not anyone told you to go for it or not, Is it that much to wait? Be safe, not in a rush, is my advice.

Wink

Properly baked paint jobs (especially factory) are fine right away.
If your brother-in-law does it in his backyard, wait a month or three.

Thanks for the info. Will probably wait 30 days after taking delivery just to be on the safe side. A month in Okla with 95 to 105 degree heat should cook it .

Trust me, the factory paint job is fully cured 50 minutes after its painted because that's when they wet sand and polish any imperfections.

It was "cooked" at the factory, as others have mentioned.
