I have a new kona blue 5.0. I could easily do the old shelby white on blue stripes, no doubt it would look great. I had a 66 fastback done similarly. But, I've done that. Then I was thinking maybe use a silver metallic stripe similar to my old black 05 GT. But what about boss style stripes in Silver metallic, Matte black, maybe a darker silver/grey metallic.....


As you can all see, I've very torn. Looking all over, I'm not finding many striped Kona Stangs. Would appreciate suggestions, PHOTOCHOPS, Pics, Links......

I have the retro billet grill coming from American Muscle as well as the cdc classic chin spoiler. Let the input flow.

What about a ghost/matte Kona Blue stripe? ....it's your car, but I like those subtle mods that don't pop out right away. Then you notice it and you're like..."ohhhhh, yeahhhh that looks goooood."

If it were my car and I decided to add stripes, I would go with matte Kona KR-style stripes. You could do this very easily by taping off the stripe pattern you want, wet-sanding the factory clear coat, then going over it with the Matte Hot Rod clearcoat, effectively using the same KB basecoat from the factory, but with a matte clear coat. What do you think?

 

On a side note, I noticed you have the Brembo Pkg. I'd also suggest a KR-style stripe in the same color as the Brembo Pkg wheels. Or, matte black KR-style stripes with a Race Red pinstripe on the outer stripes (similar to GT500PP) to bring out the red Brembo writing on the matte black calipers...just throwin some other ideas at ya!

I think silver metallic would be a great stripe color on Kona Blue.

 

I think silver would go well too. I just like to do stuff that isn't seen as much. OP, I think Boss style stripes in matte Kona would look awesome too!

 

For a differant color Id say metallic gray (gunmetal/anthracite). Or the ghosting idea sounds cool also. Or be new and two tone it like Foose has done, looks really good on these bodies, atleast 05-09.

 

Yep, pewter really is THE color for Konas..looks amazing. I loved Foose two toned but I have never seen one done in person. If I had a coupe...I'd be looking to do that for sure.
