LED bulb replacement links and info inside.

Some of you may have seen this on other boards but Im going to post it here too.

If your interested in replacing some of your factory bulbs with LED bulbs here are some of the ones I found to works so far. Also in my messing around I found out that the rear brake/turn signals are already LED.

License plate bulbs:
2x LED Festoon bulb light 39mm 6 SMD 12V C5W 239 dome | eBay

Reverse light bulbs (Qty of 4 needed):
4X SUPER WHITE T10 WEDGE LED LIGHT BULBS 5050 SMD 9-LED

Overhead console bulbs:
2x SUPER WHITE T10 7 LED WEDGE LIGHT BULBS 194 2825 168 | eBay

Side markers: (You may want to buy 4 but for me I didnt think it looked right in the fronts due to the lens construction.)
4X SUPER WHITE T10 WEDGE LED LIGHT BULBS 5050 SMD 5-LED | eBay

I just don't trust Ebay sellers and LED's. Yes they are cheaper, but then you have to pray you can get a response from them if you need a replacement.

Either way....LED's are awesome!

Were they a bit longer than the original OEM bulbs in the car for the license plate lights?

You can get a lot of ebay bulbs for 60 bucks. You think the $60 dollar bulbs don't come from the same place?

I am not saying they don't. But it is the middle man that you deal with that is going to make the difference.

Besides, the website I posted is also a vendor on another forum I am on...So I support them.

I've got these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170827586700...84.m1439.l2649 in my reverse lights...they are both brighter and whiter than stock. Have these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170761367927...84.m1439.l2649 in my front and rear side markers, they don't really seem brighter but they are definitely cooler to the touch. Put these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/180865737533...84.m1439.l2649 in my overhead console, they are both whiter (almost too white, a slight blue hue) and brighter... waiting on these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330640023833...84.m1439.l2648 to replace them, hopefully the color will be more pleasing.
Have these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190682953595...84.m1439.l2649 planning on replacing my front turn signal with them...but have had the time to yet.
All of the above sellers sent me quality LEDs at rock bottom prices...just had to wait for them...about two weeks...well worth the wait in my opinion.

Finally received them, gotta say not really impressed. The light output and color are not very different than the stock incandescent bulbs. Really hard to tell the difference between the different LED's from the pics below. You really have to look right at the light fixture to see any difference but in person the difference (between the diff LED) is very apparent. The first pic are these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/180865737533...84.m1439.l2649
The second pic are the newer, warm white: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330640023833...84.m1439.l2648

The first white bulbs appear to be brighter but that could be the effect of the whiter light. I really find the color too 'florescent'. I think I'll try a mix and match, one white and one warm white but either way it was an inexpensive experiment. I really don't know how these guys sell this stuff so cheap and still make money?

For years I've had the basic LED lights that was common a few years ago. Not the brightest solution out there, but it worked well for me. Well, recently I upgraded my daily driver with some cheap SMD LED auto bulbs. I had a spare 16 SMD bulb left over and I decided to pop it into the D. I wasn't sure if it would even fit as it's a 39mm, not 36mm like my originals, but it did! The light output was fantastic and way better then I imagined. The 16 bulb version was also just big enough to fit. Any larger and it would not fit in the bulb housing without serious modification.

Sweet! I've been meaning to look into this. Thanks for saving me some time! My reverse lights are already LED, so I'd only be interested in the plate illumination and interior lighting.

Also, for those of you that don't trust eBay or paying too much at the other site, try this..

You got lucky OP, they look great. They seem to be pure white, which is what I like. When you buy from overseas sellers you get alot of mixed and matched temps (5000k,6000k,8000k), resulting in undesirable colors or unmatched bulbs.
I usually wont buy unless they list a temp rating, I like 5000 for the pure white, so it keeps everything symetric. I cant stand the Blue tint that most "white" LEDs have.

However, looks like you got pure white bulbs and paid alot less then most people. Looks great

I ordered a set of the license plate LED's as the OP as.

I compared them to the one I got from the link I posted.

The OP ebay ones are not as bright as the SD ones, but the fitment is ALOT better. I ended up ordering 4 sets just incase 1 went out. For a $1 a set....you really can't lose.

Thumbs up OP!

If you're after brightness as well as whiteness then I believe the 5050 LED's are considered the brightest. I can't really say I've had a bad experiences yet with any of the Ebay sellers I've used for my LED's...they are all just so cheap (in price that is).

To date I have these in my reverse lights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170827586700...84.m1439.l2649

these in my side markers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170761367927...84.m1439.l2649

a combination of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330640023833...84.m1439.l2649
and these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-T10-168-...item27c65d7077 in my map lights

these in my front turn signals (right next to my headlights): http://www.ebay.com/itm/190682953595...84.m1439.l2649

and finally these in my rear license plate lights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/130707177405...84.m1439.l2649, now these I find a little too long in length, while the will fit, the mounting tabs are really pushed quite a bit, a 36-37 mm would be better, these are listed as 39mm but measure a hair over 40mm.

You may be able to find slightly better prices from other seller but these are the seller I purchased from. Other than the wait to come from overseas, I don't see any down sides, really a bargain.
