Smile Latest mods: Roush chin splitter & dipped hood vents

I love the look of the new splitter and the hood vents that I just dipped today ... the gray/black look will never grow old on me ... lol

As for those that say "needs to be lowered", the springs/shocks/struts are here, to be installed as soon as we get a nice-weather weekend.
Oh, and the windows are scheduled to be tinted in 4 days

I like it. What splitter is that? Roush? I had my vents dipped for a while. I took the dip off just before I came to Germany. Wax is tough to get off them.

Thanks and yeah it's the Roush splitter ... as far as wax I recently started using "Go Green Waterless Wash" from Chemical Guys ... it details and waxes the car and I've used it on glass/dip/trim with no issues

Looks awesome. Real mean look with that chin splitter. I'm going to dip my vents either tonight or tomorrow when I have time. Any tips on taking them out of the hood?

Thanks.
I started by removing the 3 push pins on each side of the underhood cover so I could get my hand behind it and get to the nut that holds the end of the vent in place.
Once that nut was off, I gently pushed in the tabs on each side until it popped out of the hood, being sure to hold one hand on the vent itself so that it won't pop out and drag across the hood.
When I put them back in I started by aligning the tab at the top/end of the vent, got that under the hood like it normally sits, then grabbed the vent from the other side and pretty much pulled it toward the hood, instead of pushing on it from outside, something I was trying to avoid since the dip wasn't 100% cured / strong yet.
Then I re-attached the nut and the push pins, closed the hood, and took pics

Some pics of the vents:

Didn't take pics again but I did spray a 2nd coat and then a little more into the corners to make sure I got full coverage

Thanks for the detailed answer I appreciate it. Ill probably dip em this weekend so I can give it enough time to dry and cure and won't be driving around without the vents in haha

Car is looking great Gabe. I do like the grey and black color combo too.
That Roush chin makes the front end and the dipped hood vents break up the grey. She'll look even more awesome after being tinted and then lowered! Keep us posted bud!

It dries up quick, I had them back on the car inside of 2 hrs, and that includes time to clean them, take pics, go take a leak, browse the forums ... lol

Fairly certain CG's has a UK store, might want to start there

Car looks great Gabe! I plan on getting the roush splitter for mine when it gets here. It's very "trans-am" era looking to me. Kind of like the original Mach 1/Boss

Thanks guys, I can't wait for tomorrow ... the DSS driveshaft is going in, the reso-delete is getting done, and my newly acquired custom-blended oil and trans/rear-diff fluids are going in too

Like I said, I can't wait!!

I need more disposable income so I can catch up. Let us know how the DS feels when you get back.

Getting the D/S installed now.

The tech forgot to order some 3" stainless pipe so the reso delete will have to wait unfortunately.

Oil change, trans fluid change, rear-diff fluid change and I'm outta here.

Can't wait! Hope no vibes show up.
