Lamin-x and side splitters

Just a couple quick pics of what I did today. Put on some yellow lamin-x on the fogs and installed my roush side splitters. Love the splitters. Need to do a little clean up on the front. Chrome turn signal bulbs and tint on the side markers should do it. Geez, one thing always leads to another.

Looks great. Roush side splitters and a boss splitter are in my future as well.

Haha, your not joking about that one. I put on the CS front with the boss spliters and thought I was done. Now I want to get the saleen grille and projectors headlights. In the end its all worth it tho right lol? Looks great btw. Iv seen yellow fogs on a GB and really liked it. Looks great on KB too.

Roush Side Splitter Question

On those Roush side splitters: do they mount over/with the exisiting lower valance on the car, or do you need to take that part off ? It's not clear to me what's going on and how to attach them.

Is it any easy install, or not ? I have a stock 2012 5.0 and there is black lower side valance piece that runs the length of the car between the wheel wells.

Any other adivce about putting those on ?

They do go on in addition to what is already on the car. You simply pull the retainers out of the existing rocker panel (the black plastic already on your car) and then clean the heck out of plastic where the adhesive will go. Then you put the splitter into place with replacement retainers (included). You then expose the adhesive and stick them to the existing rocker. Lastly, there are four more retainers per side where you drill through the underside of the existing rockers and put in additional retainers. Don't let the drilling scare you, you are only drilling plastic, and it is underneath the car.

Additional tips: I was able to do this with a floor jack placed under the car behind the front wheel. Just be mindful of where you will have to remove retainers and drill so you don't block your path with the jack. I have a compact milwaukee cordless drill that allowed me to get all the drilling done without moving the jack. A tip for getting the factory retainers out; use your finger to bend the top of the retainer down so you can grab it with needle nose pliers. Then give it a good firm tug, and they will come right out.
