You should be able to do whatever you want with that money and have the option of having the check cut directly to you if you so choose. They cannot force you to choose certain parts or even fix your car. Tell your shop to order what you want and pay the difference, if needed. If they wont do that, find another shop. Ive done this multiple times with different insurance companies.

Simply talk with the body shop you choose and have them run a price comparison for the stock vs what you want. They might even have options for locations to get the parts.

Never know until you ask and the best part is asking is free.....

Lucky break! Glad to hear that about your insurance and can't wait to see the new 13 look.

On a side note, I had a body man refuse to put a GT bumper on my V6 because his rationale was " when you start altering the car like that, you run into all kinds of problems." He also asked me "just what I was trying to pull?" Hahaha!!

I had a Ford parts man also chastise me for not keeping the stock look. It's unfortunate that these people work around cars, let alone Ford.

Point is: I pray you don't run into a body man that tells you that a 13 front end conversion is not possible on a 10-12 body..

I have a feeling you will...

do the 2013 headlights have the same hook ups as the 2010-2011's with hid's? i found a pair of 2013 headlights cheaper than one 2011 hid replacement.

I believe the wiring is different, but I'd get them anyway if I were you! Worst case, you can resell them for more, but I'd really try to get them to work. They look so much better than the regular 10-12 HIDs.

just looked up all the parts that i know need replacing(not sure if its everything i need) on fordparts.com with the original parts and the total came out to right at $4,000. $1,500 for a stock hood is pretty expensive.

happened to my buddy and the ins company gave him $4500...it looked like the deer he hit was made outta cotton *****! no where near your damage.

he went with a '12 ROUSH front fascia and stock hood + some Boss wheels/tires.

IF this ever happens to me Id go with a 2013 ROUSH front end and get the new Cervinis cowl hood.

I say go aftermarket like some others have suggested. It would probably be cheaper and you'd end up with a more unique look. Just my .02! Sorry about your car but you've got the right attitude with improving it now! I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

i ran some numbers and i can get a gt500 bumper, gt500 style carbon fiber hood, gt500 upper and lower grilles for about $200 less than what it would cost to get the same parts for a v6. i think im going to go that route since its cheaper than the roush parts and looks better imo. im going to take the snake emblem off and put the emblem that was on my car originally. is there a difference in the 2012 gt500 bumper and 2013 gt500 bumper?

The 13 500 grilles look much better, and your tribar emblem will fit better! I believe the bumper is the same, but you'll need the front splitter for the GT500 too, which is a little more. Without it, it will look incomplete and unfinished.

I wish a deer would jump up and kick out both my rear tail lights, and dent and slash the front/rear bumpers without causing any structural damage. Then I could get the look I really want. Not to mention insurance would actually be useful for once.

I think I'm one of the only ones who thinks the 13 grille looks dumb. It's just a big gaping hole. But hey, to each their own.
Like everyone else though, I love that you're going with the gt500 front! That's about the best look there is! Can't wait to see it
