GTCS stripe, keep or remove?

Just looking for some opinions. I know "what I like is what I should do" I even say it all the time but just looking for opinions and thoughts and if anyone has ever done it. The cars black and just put RTR wheels on.

Anyone know an approximate cost for a body shop to do it? Or tips on doing it myself. The cars is only 2 months old....

I love my GT/CS stripe on my car but my car is GB. On your black car it is hard to see so i'd maybe remove it.

I would not remove it unless you desire the non-CS look. That is an identifying mark on the car. Mine stays. On black, it is less noticeable also. With so many using the CS front.....the stripe tells the true CS's out there.

If you do remove it use stuff called Goo-Gone to get the rest of the adhesive off.

Lose it. If people want to know it's a GT/CS, they can look at the seats or rear badge to tell.

Then it looks like every other GT on the road.

Good insight guys, I thought id get a lot more remove it comments. I was thinking of black 5.0 emblems if I removed it. Maybe I should make a poll lol. Anyone else?

Leave it. It's part of the package you paid extra for, and looks really good on black I think. Sometimes just leaving things alone is the best, plus you don't wanna have to go back if you regret it.

I like that stripe. If I had a GT/CS, I'd definitely keep the stripe.

Yeah, I don't see much point in removing something that is unique to the GT/CS package.

I say keep it! But pics would help. Not really but I would like to see your car!

Ok, I got impatient and found a post with pics of your car. I definitely say keep it now. Looks great to me!

Honestly I don't have an opinion on this one. On one hand I'd say it will look cleaner without it and make the car easier to wax, but on the other hand it makes the GT/CS! So basically, this is a useless post.

I have an '07 in black. I left it on for about 3 years and finally I had to remove it. It was curling on the edges and getting wax dust stuck to it. I finally removed it. I like it better without. Should have done it sooner.

LEAVE IT!!!! the stripe is a charcoalish color correct?? I think it really accents the car and draws people's eyes wondering why your car has it but the one next to you doesn't....and as far as waxing around the stripes it's not that bad just get close to them and it's fine...look at it this way you save that much wax from every time you wax the car!!

Keep it . It belongs there and it looks good. Gives the car a different look a special edition so to speak.....which it is anyway.

This is, of course, a personal choice. I have owned two GT/CS models and left the stripes since they are a reflection of the heritage of the car. Read up on the history of the California Special and you may decide to leave it.

Yep...rare cars...only 3642 CS's (2509 were Coupes) made in 2011 compared to around 5500 GT500's.
