GT500 Exhaust

I know this is the exhaust I want as a bunch of people I've read love it. I'm looking for a little upgrade over stock, but not too obnoxiously loud!

My question is I've searched online for the GT500 exhaust and I end up with prices ranging from $300 to $1,000 with different parts. Some have just the tips some have the whole exhaust. What do I need to purchase just to make the exhaust sound a little but louder than stock. Can you post a link of the store?

Also does anyone know a good and cheap place in LA that would install it?

I purchased the mufflers through AM. they were 300 + free shipping.
I have not heard of anyone just adding the tips to get a different sound. I would suggest the mufflers also.
I have a video with the GT500 sports, but I also have more modifications done to my s197.

Not looking for quad tips. Just single tips like the stock.

Here is the exact set I purchased: http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-g...ck-2011gt.html
You could prob find them local. Ford wants 700 for the same model number. They are constructed for the V8s, you will have to cut and weld.

So that's all I need to buy to get it to sound a bit better? $319.99?

Also, what's a normal installation fee for stuff like this?

what body shop? ive been looking for a good one nearby too.

and by the way, the gt500 are nice, but have you heard the borla s-type? those also have a absolutely perfect sound. Sky Hye from the SoCal stanger's thread has some, maybe you can try and see if you can meet him just to hear his exhaust. same car as yours too, just blue lol

if anything, if you end up still wanting the gt500's least you'll have an idea of how much louder things can get when you change the exhaust axlebacks

Doesn't cost anything to install them when you do it yourself.

One of the things most people can do in their driveway with only a pair of ramps or jack and jack stands and a few hand tools.

If your not lowered, you dont even need a jack or ramps. At least I didn't. If your on the hefty side you might. One of my tips stick out slightly further than the other though. Does anyone know why this would happen? I think I might need to loosen the mid pipe to see if I can push it in a little. I can always adjust the roush tip on the other side I guess to fix it.

Adjusting the mid pipe will work!

They're very easy to install. I did it myself with the borla's I got, and I had no prior experience at all. and it turned out great, the only tiny thing is one pipe sticks out maybe like .0000001 inches more than the other, and I know how to fix it, but its so small I didn't even bother lol. I'll help you out if you want.

Though if welding is required(which I don't think it is, at least not with the borla's, but you should find out for sure), then you should definitely get it done by the pro's

Nope, no welding required for any axle back kit unless you are crossbreeding, as in V8 to V6.

there's a couple of different sets of mufflers for sale in the for sale section here at TMS. Click on the link above then scroll up a bit. This guy is selling a seyt of JBA mufflers for 85 bucks. I ran a set of them for a while but ended up going with something louder. I did think they sounded pretty good when I had them
