GT rill fog lights to V6 Bumper lights question!

So I've had my new mustang or about a month now and those fog light have still not grown on me (I don't know about you guys but I hate the fogs in the grill), I honestly think they kill the front end look! So I have decided to go to a V6 style fog light setup, and a Roush grill. Has any one on the forum done this? The doing itself is not hard, my question is, should I buy the fog kit WITH the harness, or will the fog harness that I have on my GT currently be long enough to reach the new fog location?
I'm sure I can rig up a harness if it doesn't reach, but I want it to look factory!!
Basically I want to go from this:

Been looking at this myself and from what I can gather the stock GT fog harness won't reach the lower valance and I believe the bulbs in the V6/CS fogs use a different connector.

So, I'd say get the harness to make the conversion easier.

I can't justify spending $400 for a top and bottom grill from Roush. I like how it looks but I like my money better. It should cost $200 for both grills like the Billet.

You don't have to change the grill to change the fogs around, you can get a set of blank plates for the openings to make it like a BOSS grill.

Personally, I've been a fan of the fogs in the upper grill...retro to the early pre 70 years when Ford did it this way in those early Mustangs. Putting them low makes the new Mustangs like every other sedan out there. In the grille, the Mustang is much more aggressive looking then moms grocery getter.

Just another opinion.

And the grille type bulbs are C10, the lower fogs are C11. At least on the 2011 GT (upper grille) verses V6 lower bumper fogs. Google "C10 to C11 connector". You'll find that companies already make conversion harnesses for this, so no need to cut and splice.

I love my center fogs, especially with the eleanor grille, but that's b/c ilike the old school look.

Yeah.... The $400 price tag is the only thong keeping the grill off the car right now

I did look at that, might be an alternative to the $400 roush grill.

Thanx for the link!
I'll have to join that forum, and I think I might pick them up!!
I like the old school mustangs with the grill lights!
But I just think the modern one looks better with a nice clean grill!! (Kinda like the Shelby has minus the gaping hole!!)

You want to make your car look like a V6? That just ain't right. If you want a V6, then get a V6.

What if he calls it a "V6 Tribute" car?

Either way, the fogs are also on the California Special, so it's not like they're exclusive

^ Also came that way for all the Canadian '13 GTs. Just had to get that sore point in there... It does look like the (my...) V6, and I think it looks much cleaner and more modern that way, not that I had a choice and however it came (re fogs) would have been fine. What I don't like quite as much about it is in Canada the fogs are on all the time during the day, which annoys fog "purists" (and me) a little bit. Never mind calling lights in the grille fogs instead of driving lights.

You can now get the Ford fog light kit for about $115:

Doesn't appear to include the upper grill replacement, but a good deal on the lights and bezels.

What is the difference between these lights:
http://www.cjponyparts.com/starkey-f...2-2013/p/FGK2/
and these:
http://www.levittownfordsupercenter....14-p-1216.html
Because that is a pretty big price difference, and I really don't think the wiring harness would make a $250 difference!
The first ones look like projector fog lights the 2nd link I cannot tell!
Are they the same?

Starkey (the brand in the first link) was the first company out there with this kit, but they're stupid money at $400

Ford recently came out with their own kit, unbelievably priced much less than the aftermarket.

I'm not 100% sure if they both include the same stuff, but going by the description and pictures on levittown's site, it seems so, making the OEM Ford kit a BARGAIN.

Hey guys,

Starkey has two kits that include the projector lamps for the 13-14.

The one listed above is the complete kit (#3502) with wiring harness and OEM switch - the GT guys obviously won't need the wiring/ switch because their car is pre-wired. This kit is intended for V6 owners/ Boss owners that did not come with fog lights from the factory. It retails for $399.99.

The second kit we have that is most similar to the Ford kit Fudge linked above is #3504. This one is intended for GT owners who wish to convert from grille mounted fog lights to lower valance lights. It retails for $249.99
http://www.starkey-products.com/must...a-special-2013

Comparing apples to apples, the Ford kit ends up saving you 100+. As Gabe said they recently came out with their own kit which is definitely less expensive than ours. They are very similar. Ours ends up being easier to install, but for the guy who doesn't mind cutting the factory fog light connectors off and soldering the new ones that come with the Ford kit on, its definitely a savings.

Normally our kits end up being a better deal than buying all the parts separately/ from Ford, but this is one of those rare instances where Ford has a smokin' deal out there. Our grille mounted fog light kit for the 13-14 is a good example of this, its about $800 less from us than you would spend buying parts separately.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, I just wanted to clear up any questions related to our parts.

Jason

Well looking at ford instructions they want you to cut wires!
So that's not going to happen, I'll have to looks into some adapter wires, might just end up going with the Strky kit linked above (the one for GTs)!
Since its all included unless I can fid adapters cheap somewhere!
Now where to find a Rouh grill (upper and lower) and ......... not spend $400?
Thanx everyone for your input!
