Plastidip = cheapest and best way to test out strip designs, I plan on doing this to see how some designs look, then get them painted professionally on.

Synthetic Rubber Coating
Plasti Dip is a multi-purpose, air dry, specialty rubber coating. It can be easily applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying. Plasti Dip protective coating is ideal for a broad array of do-it-yourself projects around the home, garage, garden, and elsewhere. It protects coated items against moisture, acids, abrasion, corrosion, and skidding/slipping, and provides a comfortable, controlled grip. Plasti Dip remains flexible and stretchy over time, and will not crack or become brittle in extreme weather conditions. It has been tested and proven in temperatures from -30°F to 200°F.
Plasti Dip is available in 7.25 oz., 14.5 oz., and 22 oz. containers, and in 11 oz. aerosol cans.

The stripes look AWESOME! Go with paint if you can afford it. I will be pricing having my rally stripes shot in paint because silver is prone to staining. The reverse C stripes are not as prone to staining but I will price them as well. The good thing about vinyl is you can always remove them but there will likely be some discoloration due to fading.

Took off the stripes today...Like I said they were "Temporary"!!
Washed the car the other day and they stayed on without any problems, but when your ready to remove them they come off super easy!

I will be getting them painted on sometime around Christmas wen I get my new hood!
CAN't WAIT, I already miss them!

Did you have to pull the tape off before it dried? I had the hardest time doing the little accents on the hood (plasti dip would just pull off with the tape) I really liked the stripes on your car though! Makes me want to do it.

I like the stripes. I bought a GHIG with no stripes and that was the first thing I did after purchase is put on stripes, I think black stripes on GHIG looks better than no stripes. White however I can see both ways, but I like with stripes better.

You have to pull the tape off AS SOON AS YOU SPRAY IT! Otherwise it adheres too quick and will pull off the stripe your trying to have stay on.

It looked awesome! Got some questions tho. How did you when to even spray it on as far as lining up and centering is concerned. I see that being a major PITA!!

Also people always say pull tape as soon as you spray. What if you are doing multiple coats? Even when I pulled off immediately after spraying final coat I still had it peel on me (faux cap edges)

I believe you would spray, peel tape, let dry 10-15 mins, re-tape, spray, peel tape, let dry, ect.

Bingo!, but be sure you do even coats....the plastidip nozle on the can needs to be wiped off good immediately afterwards as well. Otherwise it will clog up and spray funny on second coat.

I like it with the stripes. Only to the bottom of the cowl though. I was thinking about doing this too just to see what it would look like.
