That feeling when the dealership is supposed to put white stripes on your car...

The top clashes pretty badly with white stripes. So even tho the black doesn't really look great on the GB to me, it looks better than the white would.
A little race red accent of some sort with the black would look sweet, IMO (see PM).

Amen. I'm with you all the way with these opinions on black wheels. It looked alright for awhile, no every other street rice car feels they gotta have them.

To me, the point is, the dealer completely screwed up a simple order! Take it back and make sure they make it right, and it better not cost you an extra dime! Even if the stripe guy was colorblind, you can't mix up black and white for cryin' out loud!
Also- print out the pics that Snoopy49 posted up and stick them in the dealer's face, "Like THIS, please!"

if you go back about 15 years ago, the ricers were doing the all steelie look or the required 18" motegi's or enkeis. 10 years ago they had upgraded to steelies on the front, and aftermarket wheels on the back. Then the shiny lip-dark wheel look got popular starting with gunmetal, then eventually black. Then the whole wheel dark got popular, or black wheels entirely. Then the manufacturers started to follow suit.
I just know where it originally came from and I've never been a huge fan. I used to have black wheels w/ a chrome lip on my GTO. I liked it but i always wished I had lighter spokes, like silver, gunmetal, hell even gold or bronze.
I like the factor wheels that they are darker than silver, but not black. I could gladly go darker.
If I did wheels, they'd be gunmetal, but never black.

It was originally part of the deal Ted Britt in Fairfax, VA promised me to get my business. There is a dealership 5 miles from my house (Koons) and one right next to my work (Kip Killmon's) but they promised the same price w/ white GT500 stripes so they got my business, even if they are like an hour out of my way (in traffic)
I'm going to simmer over the weekend. I might stick with black, and have them fix what they did wrong. Black isn't THAT bad. It was just not what I was expecting.

Gorgeous!
Danielle..........I have to say, the black stripes look superb to me. It's one of my favourite colour-combos
However, it's your car and should be mondified to your taste, not ours. Good luck

Jsimmons that is one sick looking Mustang! ...and yes, I love the BLACK wheels! Mine will be black when the money tree reblooms!
Danielle...for what it's worth, I think the black stripes look much nicer than the white ever would. Have 'em fix the rocker stripes to your specs and enjoy that sweet car!

If I could find a 19" or 20" Bullitt type wheel to clear Brembo's, I'd SO BE THERE. Until then, :-(
To be clear, I'm not down with solid black wheels, I'm fine with even gunmetal or flat black (as it looks grey-ish)
I'm not a fan of mesh type wheels either. 5 or 10 spokes, or nothin' else.
The Sherrod Mustangs (SSVT-500) utilize a Bullitt type wheel in 20" that clear brembo's. I've seen a few in person.
Also here is a pic of one.
I'd be on those wheels in black w/ polished lip on 19's or 20's in a second, and KEEP the dark stripes.

I found them for $435 but I agree, still a major ouch. 20" tires are not inexpensive either~ Not the F10's but these Forgestars do look pretty nice on the Tuskegee Mustang.
