That feeling when the dealership is supposed to put white stripes on your car...
And then you go to pick it up, and they put on black stripes.........
I'm so beyond angry. I guess the saving grace is that even if they were the right color, the sides are done totally wrong, so they would have had to have been redone anyway.
So I'll hear from them tomorrow when they can come take my car away from me again for a day or two and restripe it in White.
But in case you wondered what it would look like to toss Shelby/LeMans stripes on a Grabber Vert - here ya go.

The base model stripe was not even that thin! But I do know which stripes you are talking about...

no no no.
Black stripes on blue = gross.
White stripes on blue = winning
black wheels on anything at all = overdone. so overdone, it's past bing ricey, past being mainstreem, and is just plain aweful looking. I am not Mad Max, nor do I want to be.

That "thin thick thin deal" is from the original Shelby GT 350, and they still use them today.
I personally don't mind the side stripes, In fact I kind of like them. But I would certainly be royally pissed if I showed up to see the complete wrong color stripes covering my car.

well I do want the side stripes.. Just done properly and about 1/2 to 3/4" lower than they currently are. I'm perfectly fine with the thin thick thin or even just the dual stripe like the current shelby.

The debate isn't whether thin/thick/thin stripes were ever used. The problem is the thick middle stripe is not thick enough to look proper. All the factory rocker stripes on the 05-up Mustangs have a certain thickness. Also, this is not the stripe style at all that the OP wanted on the sides.

i've spent the last two hours comparing black striped cars to white striped cars. My conclusion? still haven't come to one. Maybe black stripes are fine. Biggest reason I was against them is that they get so lost on that back end of the car.

Different strokes I suppose.

For the record, when the rocker stripes on factory Shelby's and Pony Package Mustangs are done properly they are spaced away from the door sculpture line, not up to it. On Boss 302 Mustangs the stripe is much closer to the door sculpture line which helps line up the stripe to cover the area around the rear side marker lamps.

Well my preference is that they not be interrupted by the gloss panel now standard on the 2013 deck lid.
