These types of promotions are so the buyers will purchase again within the one mounth period. It wasn't designed to give back money. That is from a retail standpoint.

everyone in America today wants a deal or everything to go both ways.. You simply bought at the wrong time. It happens. Its not your fault or CJ's fault You bought when you bought.. Thats like buying something at target and then it goes on sale then being angry about the sale... I have also never heard about 7 day price match thing. Ever. You didnt lose money. You bought at what you thought was a fair price and you didnt buy knowing you would have the possibly sale or you might of waited.

Maybe a smarter way to buy if you care about discounts is to ask around or contact the rep(like others have said we have one here on the forum) and see what the buzz is on stuff.

I can understand being angry about customer service. I am very big on it and believe its the true heart of a company next to great products. I also wouldnt wait to hear from the CJ rep today because its saturday and he might have a life out side of hearing people cry on a forum on his day off.

Target will price adjust within 7 days. Express will, Victoria's Secret...the list goes on. I didn't want money back, just the gift cards. You clearly are out of tune with the retail industry, and that's ok. But I'm not ok with it. Not listening to customers doesn't create loyal customers.

But...my main issue was how I was treated. I can return the product and repurchase just fine. I just think its stupid for them to ask for additional work.

That's what I thought too. I've bought from them in the past and they sent me the rebate card with my purchase. My reaction was...oh cool...if I was planning on buying something more from them again soon I'll use this card. They obviously sent it to me because I just purchased something. I didn't figure I'd be able to apply it to something else I already bought. It's kind of like a starbucks coffee card. You have to buy coffee to get that free coffee. You don't retroactively split up the price of previous coffees you bought and get a rebate back on them.

My friends daughter recently bought a crap can Kia. Later that week, I saw an add on TV that the specific dealership would give a flat screen TV to the ones that bought certain models of the car.

I told my friend about it and they both walked in a got a TV on the spot! Even though it had been over a week.

Apples to oranges, I know....but dang.

I don't want the gift cards applied to my previous purchase. I want the gift cards to make another separate purchase. So they would need to return what I bought and buy it back so I can get the free gift cards. To do this, they want to be jerks and make me actually send the product back when they know I'm just going to repurchase it. It only makes it harder for them. I just don't want to wait for the product again. Either way, it's getting shipped back now.

No one is saying they want money back!

Lets say you buy a tv, and the next day you go to the store and they're running a promotion buy
one tv get a free $100 gift card. So you think...hmm I haven't opened the tv, so I'm going to return it and buy it again to get the promo. A good retailer will not require the product for this. They will just return the tv from the receipt, buy it back in the same transaction to make the purchase eligible for the promotion. If they make you go home and get the tv, they are just being jerks, because in the end, the result is the same.

Exactly!! If someone at CJ's is worried about covering their butt for giving you the gift cards all they have to do is run a refund for the product and then ring a new purchase for it and send you the gift cards! That way there's paperwork to cover it all. Easy, Peasy.
No need to be physically sending product back and forth, that's just stupid.
I've been in retail for 23 years and that's how you do it and satisfy the customer.

So most retailers let you do a one time price adjustment within 7 days, so I figured I would give them a call and see what they say. Well...two supervisors basically told me I could return the product and then re-buy it to get the offer but I would have to send the product back. Now lets realistically think about this...the only person losing money on me sending it back would be them, why would they not retro this offer and be done with it? So...the supervisors were so rude and disrespectful about this situation that I will absolutely never shop there again. I told him that i would return the product and shop somewhere else and he could have cared less. The supervisor got tired of talking to me and literally sent me to his voice mail. Wtf? I didn't know they were doing so great that they could just dismiss customer concerns like that. My main problem was not the discount, it was the way I was treated by them. Not good...
They are encouraging you to do further business with them by giving you free money. Are you really that much of an idiot to not figure this out?

Don't know what import forum you crawled out of but we don't call people idiots for expressing and sharing concerns in this forum.

Maybe if you actually read my posts, you would understand that I know it's for further business. I think I clarified that like 15 million times... I wanted the gift cards to give them future business. What part of that do you not understand?

By making me send the product back and repurchase to receive the gift cards, they are losing any future business. As a business owner, what would you choose? Give a $60 gift card to a customer, who will get the $60 anyways if he sends back the product, or risk $1000's of dollars lost in business from that customer. They had a chance to wow me with great service, instead they made me resent them. You clearly don't have a business background slowrider652444.

I guess I am out of touch even tho I buy lots of stuff from dozens of stores. I guess I just dont see the problem. You didnt buy when the offer was running.. its really that simple. I agree is stupid to return and rebuy but if that what it takes to get the offer you want..

Better check the fine print and be sure there is no restocking fee. I'd personally wash my hands of the deal, send everything back, and go with AM.

If the item is not in stock, give it time or accept it as a mod god omen telling you to rethink it. There's plenty other items to use the money on until then.

I totally get what your saying, and I understand. However, once I express to them that I am going to return the product, the right thing to do, would be to accommodate me because there is nothing they can do anyways about me returning it and buying it back. Why fight something you can't win.

Their attitude is...well you can do this by returning it and buying it back, but I'm going to make it as miserable as possible for you every step of the way.

Yup. I'm wiping my hands clean and leaving a nice note inside the return.
