Dr. Colorchip

My 2011 Kona GT has serious road rash and chips. Here are some pics of the first few chips repaired. The area is illuminated with shop lights so it shows every mark. The repair looks very good and under normal light and it is hardly noticeable up close. Can't see it from 3 feet away.

For $60 for the kit vs a $1000 repaint of the nose of the car; it's a good deal.

damage

Paint and smudge

Excess paint wiped off

Do you have a link to the kit?

Never mind, I found one.

I just finished doing all the damage and am very impressed.

Going to let it cure for a few days and then put some Black Fire Wet Diamond sealant back on the car.

Had to strip off all wax and sealant before doing the repair.

I used Dr. Colorchip on my black '06 Mustang. I was real hesitant at first about trying it out for the first time on a black car, but it worked flawlessly. Great product.

Gonna try this. I have a couple chips that are driving me nuts. Hope it works for me. Can somebody post some pics of their repair? Before and after.

Here are a few more.

Left front damage.

Paint applied and smudged.

Excess paint removed.

Both sides of the hood were equally damaged. Here's one with the left side repaired.

I've got 8-10 little chips like you did, Banjostang, and am going to give it a try too. Thanks for the post.

I also found another kit that comes with a filler as well as the paint to correct the chip. http://scratchwizard.net/. Anyone try this kit?

Banjostang, that's a lot of chips. Do you follow gravel trucks all day?

I've only seen this stuff advertised on infomercials. I'm actually surprised it works that well. Definitely something to have in your bag of tricks.

Well dang. Wish I had seen this prior to using factory touch up paint. Thank you though for posting OP.

Banjostang, thanks for posting, this looks like a great product. I'd like to get everyone's opinion on a scrape I found on my Stang this morning. I was thinking this product would do the trick. There is no dent, just a deep scratch to the metal about 3/4" long...
