Anyone have retro/old school badges on their car?

That's for a 1965 (no more than $15 per side).

The emblem I used was made for the original application so it had 2 pins. I cut those down flush then filled the open cavity behind the face and used 3M tape to attach it.

What's a good thing to use to fill that open cavity? Or what did you use, scoops?

Check all around the hardware store. I found a cheap plastic putty scraper/smoother that happened to be close in thickness and width at the handle. Some trimming and sanding to the exact fit was still necessary. Try your favorite glue/epoxy to hold it in the backside of the emblem. Then it's ready to stick on with the 3M tape.

I ended up doing it before your reply.. and it wasn't the best way they're on and they look good, but it was a pain in the ***. I cut down the pins, filled in cavity with something that didn't work at first. Ended up using bondo, but that wouldn't stick to anything because it had a sandy texture. So then coated the top of the bondo with JB Weld and then stuck them on.

So they're on, they look good, I get a lot of compliments about it, but it was frustrating and I think I could've made the back of the emblems look better / smoother. You have to stand over less than a foot away to see that it's not perfect behind them.

I used the '97 GT Mustang fender badges on my '04 GT. I had tons of compliments and that car (my "old car") won 1st place Daily Driven five consecutive years at the MCA/GCRMC Show in Pensacola. Be inventive...be original in making your choice.
