5.0 Badges and "GT" trunk medallion
I want a more stealth look. What are my options as far as removing and/or replacing these?
My first thought is to replace the trunk GT medallion with a V6 version Tribar. Or perhaps one of the plastic decklid panels with a built-in medallion. (Will the V6 decklid panel fit a GT?)
What about the 5.0 badges on the side? Will the V6 Ponies fit in the same mounting holes? (I'm guessing the V6s have ponies there....I honestly haven't looked)
What about just removing them all together? How large are the holes that would have to be filled? Any other options as far as filling that area?
Lastly, are there any decklid panels that are medallionless?(Excluding the "ridged" CDC one. I want a smooth look) I think a clean surface would look pretty good back there.
I also plan on hiding my foglights behind some sort of grill. I'm going for a clean, sleek look.

All emblems are interchangeable. There is no way Ford would produce different fenders or decklid panels for each specific model. Every car leaves the body shop looking the same (hoods aside). The holes that locate the emblems are quite large and would need a good amount of body work to fill them in and sand smooth.

I take it the holes in the side fenders were the 5.0 is do not go all the way threw the finder?? I have no holes on the inside of my 2012 fender behind the 5.0 emblem.. Did I just get lucky ?? Lol

I believe that all of the various fender badges are attached with double-sided tape. The technique to remove them is use dental floss to slice behind the emblem, and then use goo-gone to remove the tape that remains on the fender.
Regarding the faux gas cap, the metal behind it does not conform to the shape of the deck lid. It is raised and has holes in it. All faux caps (GT, V6, Shelby, etc) are interchangeable for 2010-2012, but the 2013's might be different.

Are you sure you are looking right to the fender skin when you look? From what I've seen there are two holes in the fender to locate the 5.0 badge. There will still be double-sided tape to attach the badge though.

Pretty sure.. I took a flash light between door and fender, was able to get finger on back of fender were the 5.0 is and didn't see or feel any holes or protruding plastic or metal..

Here's what it looks like under the faux gas cap. You'll need a lot of heat and something that won't scratch the paint to pry it off. Fishing line supposedly works too.

the 5.0 badges are HOLES .. i jsut changed mine to black 5.0s, you can see cleanly through the fenders, and without puilling the fender wells down, there is now way you get ur hand in there from the door well with the foam in the way.

I want to take mine off to paint it.
John, do you think the factory tape will still have enough life to reattach? And is it easy to line bak up straight?

[QUOTE=Muskao;6330363]Well I can leave the 5.0, and this ( pic ) or take 5.0 off with just the powered by ford emblem. Your thoughts??
I think you should have either one, but not both because two badges have dissimilar finishes. If you want to use both, get the new style of PBF badge (I know - $135 for a pair). The new style is larger and would go with the 5.0 better.
