Question '13 Boss splitter install need new underbody panel?

Interested in getting a Boss 302 front chin splitter but I see that the "kit" on AmericanMuscle's site also includes a new panel that mounts further back under the front end, connecting to the chin splitter.

Wondering if that's really needed or is the kit for cars without that part?

I'm quite confused, and the $700 price of the kit didn't help ... lol

I've seen the splitter by itself for as low as $355 shipped and even that's stupid high for what it is, but it would be more manageable than the $700 kit ...

I know for the 2012 they have the LS style splitter and it's outrageous. And then they have the street Boss splitter which is pretty cheap.

Gabe,

We offer the Boss 302 Chin spoiler for the 13' as a two piece kit. Most companies do sell just the chin spoiler it self around the $350 area. However We like to be a one stop shop. The 13' factory splash guard will not work with the boss splitter so you would most likely have to do some custom work or purchase both items. Our kit comes with the Splitter and a Fully functional Air deflector/Splash guard that is designed to direct cooler air up into the engine bay and keep any road grime out.

I hope this helps clear things up a bit, Let me know if you have any questions! Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266.
