whats a real world 0-60 time for a stock v6

Just bought a brand new 2014 premium v6 auto, i have 400 miles on the car so i decided to do a 0-60 with the track apps.

The best i got was a 7.1 which i thought was kind of sluggish considering i been seeing times of 6.2 - 6.5 all over on youtube for stock.

I live in houston and i ran it at night. i know elevation isn't a problem here but could it be just all from humidity and heat?

Whats a normal 0-60 time for a stock v6 premium auto? also could it be im not broken in yet?

There are a lot of variable to consider. What gears do you have? Was traction control turned off? Did you do any preloading, or just mash the pedal? Your car should free up a few ponies after a few thousand miles.

It seems to me just from reading the forums that automatics are a little tricky to launch, but once you get it, can get consistent launch times.

2.73 gears, traction was on, i revved up to 1500 rpm and launched. i tryed doing a higher rpm launch but the car wont go past about 1900 rpm.

Is there any threads on how to launch these autos? Or maybe someone can give me advice.

Thnanks guys.

I'm not sure, but there are probably some threads on this. You could also ask that specific question. I usually launch up higher, like 3,000 rpms, but I have an MT82.

I have a 2013 V6 auto with 2.73 gears, the picture below was taken when the only mod was a CAI. I have hit 5.6 on more than a few occasions, but consistency over time is not there. If I hit 5.6, I can do it a few times in the same day. Other days the best I can do is 5.9 sec.

With a Diablo sport tuner, I still haven't beaten 5.6, but I only have a 87 octane tune installed. Definitely can feel a response difference, but it I haven't seen a time difference yet.

Give you engine some time to break in and your times should get better.

Cooler temps and lower humidity will help. I'm sure that with a little googling, you can find a web page that allows you to adjust your time based on humidity and temp, but you have to have those numbers to use it.

I have a '13 base auto with 2.73 gears and get a consistent 6 seconds 0-60. Even with 4k miles now, still haven't touched a thing on it, mod wise. May throw on a Bama tune soon. 7 seconds at near sea level is real slow for these cars, I don't even think mine was close to that with 30 miles on it!
