I currently have the 93 performance loaded but when I go to load the 93 Race it says file already exists would you like to overwrite or something along those lines like they are basically the same thing.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm just going to request a new street, race and performance tune in the tunes for life

i think that means that you have a file on the sct device with the same name. not the same tune just name.

I haves went his before. It doesn't necessarily mean nothing was changed. It's probably something very small the SCT doesn't check for.

I've ran into this before. Instead of 93R-R5...., I'd change the name to 93 Steeda CAI, or whatever you like and just remember what it is. I always keep the original in email attachments though. The tune would load no problem.

That means you have the same name, not the same file.

But I didn't. I couldn't tell you why the tuner was saying it was the same file. Similar beginning but different everywhere else on the file name. I tried multiple times to load it. Changed the name after remembering reading about a similar issue a long time ago and, bam, it loaded to the tuner.

These guys have pointed you in the right direction. It sounds like we could have accidentally loaded the Performance tune to your device twice. This is an easy fix and we can get you squared away quickly. Just give the Bama team a call and let them know. We can get you a new Race tune emailed over right away!

Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Hope this helps.

No. But, as far as the actual difference goes, it's big-time different. I have the 93 octane tunes on a stock manual trans 2012 car. With the performance tune, my car seems to come on the power hard about 5k. With the race tune, it comes on strong at about 4k and continues to pull hard. It seems like the race tune is a combination of the street and performance tunes. Some guys claim they get the best mileage out of the race tune. I find I can get the same mileage out of any of the tunes as long as I drive it easy. I get about 30mpg or better at 70mph on flat ground with no headwind and standard atmospheric conditions. I'm just guessing, but I would imagine that those tunes don't take effect until you reach a certain RPM and/or throttle position.
