Just wondering what other sixxers are seeing for their cylinder head temps?
Normally Mine is between 96 and 99 Celsius (203-210 f) but randomly now I notice the temps just rapidly shoot up to 105 c (221 f) and then I baby the car to get it to go down eventually.
No bubbles in the coolant, no leaks I can see. Last time happened on not an overly warm day.
Can't really find what the accepted cylinder head operating range is anywhere for the cyclone engines. Anyone know or experience the same thing?
I'm thinking that if it happens randomly after a quick accel to get around traffic, maybe a hose is collapsing from vacuum.

Yeah happened a couple times since I've started driving with the vehicle info on the info display on.
Definitely happened after a good pull, so I'm leaning towards vacuum pinching a hose.
I do haul *** on a regular basis, so haven't been able to nail down a pattern. Both times were during a moderately long drive (over 70km's) vs my 25km commute.
Only thing I had modded in the engine is Airaid CAI.
I'm not worried about it, but it's just something I'll keep an eye out for and if it happens on a cooler day, I'll be having them checking the coolant system.
Like you said, **** tough to troubleshoot. Guess I'll pop underneath and start looking for a pinched hose or any possible signs (not that I'll find one).
I guess I'm really just wondering what is considered "bad" when it comes to cylinder head temps, and when I should get worried if it start shooting up.
Thanks for your feedback!

I believe the heads will start to warp around 130-140C, that was the danger zone on the S2000 I used to have. So you are safe, for now, but get that checked out in a hurry!
Chances are they will replace the water pump, thermostat, and housing first, then discover that didn't fix it, then kick **** for a while and try to figure out what to do.
If it's an intermittent issue with temp spiking, my guess is air bubble, I would ask them to do a leakdown test or test your thermostat to see if it is sticking.
