Jenvey ITB Setup Available!

I've never seen this until tonight - saw it on another forum - and thought I would share it. They say there is an American shop that sells it for like 1/3 of the price but hard to find.

We've discussed this at length within another forum. It would be difficult to tune six independent TBs. It's done with other cars, but considering that the Ginetta G55 that uses the ITB only makes 360 HP and you can get there with less exotic parts, it would be much cheaper to do the traditional bolt ons. Does look sexy though.

The benefit of ITBs isn't peak power at all, it's midrange power and throttle response. It's really most useful on a track car, esp. if someone dropped a 3.7L into a kit car or a lightweight car. Or just for a cool exotic part. I also saw that discussion, I think the tough part is that you would have to put a new fuel system in the car :/

I agree with you on throttle response, as there's less distance between the throttle body and the cylinder.

Midrange vs peak usually depends on the setup accompanying the ITBs. Velocity stacks will favor peak power (think super short intake runners without the restrictions of an intake manifold). An intake manifold may favor peak or midrange, but it depends on the engineering and application. Runner length and diameter are significant factors in peak torque location and the flatness of the torque curve.
